Best chicken pesto sandwich I've ever had. Cooked perfectly, exceptionally good pesto, melty cheese, on thick focaccia.Edit- forgot to mention the coffee is great
The food was very good and the spot was very cute. However the service was some of the worst I’ve ever experienced. I am an 11 year business owner and I have an 8 year history in restaurant customer service as a server and bartender — what I witnessed was sub-par at best and completely rude and unacceptable. They took me out of my peaceful post Memorial Day vacation-mode with their rude and unpleasant treatment. They had strange rules about ordering — some items could only be ordered inside. Some outside. Some orders were allowed for take out. And some not. And without posting said rules — I was expected to know this inherently and treated with disrespect as if I was asking something shocking or as if my question would require too much energy from them to fulfill. Aren’t they in business to sell, prepare, serve, share — and dare I say — delight? Lisa acted like I was inconveniencing her day when asking for items on their menu and made it seem like it was my fault that I was ordering things that they were out of or that they had yet to prepare for order. It was 11:30am. Yuck. They need a class on class and service.
This is a really unique spot that is definitely worth checking out. Mark, the server was super kind and gracious. I loved that when I walked in to the 4 table restaurant, I was kindly told to please sit at the "dog" table. I had the mushroom omelet which was absolutely delicious. The chef's choice to use shallots in it really made it!
Our favorite Traverse City Hidden Gem. Amazing food and Coffee drinks done right! The pastrami is to die for, Best I've ever had!
My husband and I were fortunate enough to enjoy a meal here yesterday. Incredible flavors. It is quaint and has limited seating, so we called ahead and then stopped in to be put on the list to be seated. Totally worth the wait.
Yummy find in Traverse City! Definitely recommend!
Love the food and the vibe! Cute little place. Thumps up for the chef and staff to wear masks!
My fiancé and I were so excited to try this place for the first time. The open sign was lit so we walked to the door and opened it, a man was on the other side who sternly said “DINING ROOM IS CLOSED” and slammed the door in our face, literally. So rude. We then saw on the other side that they had a take out window. We had never been here and we didn’t know. But it doesn’t matter because We will never bother trying to give this place our business ever again. Rude!
Absolutely unbelievable how amazing the food is here. Always worth the wait.
First, this is not a place for a quick brunch. It's tiny, so you will wait. But oh how worth it the wait is! The building itself feels like it's been serving up all sorts of great cuisine in Northern MI for a century. Nothing is fancy, the service is slow, but it's friendly and a fantastic place to spend a Sunday morning. In house specials are incredible, I got the pastrami hash, which was the best pastrami I've had in TC. My wife got the monte Cristo, which is served on the most incredible bread. Everything tastes deliciously home made and clearly prepared with care. This will be a staple for us, can't wait to try the rest of the menu!
