My husband and I made the mistake of ordering fish sandwiches at Don’s. A couple of frozen fish sticks would have been better sandwiched between those buns. As it was, there was one very small fillet, which barely filled the bun and was dry and tasteless. Don’s needs to rethink its fish options. Either improve the quality and quantity of the fish or take it off the menu entirely. People in any lake district expect better fish than that. We’ve eaten here before and have enjoyed their burgers and malts so no complaints there. Also, the staff is friendly and hardworking. They’re able to push out a tremendous amount of food to their awaiting customers. RECOMMENDATION: Avoid ordering the fish.
Easily to get full lots of favorites. Prices are good staff are friendly and attentive. Love the coleslaw and fries.
Don's was great. The server was fast and friendly. The food was filling, the burger was delicious. I was stunned at how tiny the shakes were. I definitely would have ordered one twice that size or more if there was one available.
Average greasy spoon. Almost all food deep fried. Survives on its reputation as a long-standing establishment but just average. Shakes are good but small
Nostalgia! went here as a kid . food was delicious fresh and hot and our server Kiely was so sweet. I even got to buy a car my dad used to collect those!

If you are looking for a tasty burger this is the place! It's a stop specially if you are in East Bay Traverse City. We ordered chili cheese fries, the 1/4 lb burger with the "For the asking everything" and along with the Big D 1/2 lb burger! We ate everything. It has friendly staff and clean tables and even a place to hang your winter coat. Side note you also get lake view too.

Absolutely can't go wrong at Don's. If you have been in Traverse City any length of time, you already know this. However, we were impressed enough at the speed of our service that we had to talk to the manager. These days since covid, restaurants are understandably short staffed and short fused, so high wait times are expected. Don's was a very welcome change!
Such great food consistently, time after time. One of the best Reuben sandwiches in town! And great, fast service!
