Go here. Don’t even hesitate for a moment. The best breakfast food in Traverse City. Right now it’s only outdoor seating and you order from outside, so this is perfect for bringing back to your own place. But the bakery is some of the best we’ve ever had. Rivals bakeries in France we’ve been to. The chocolate cherry pastries—OMG! Eat here. Often.
The breakfast sandwich tasted good but for $16 it should come with more than one tiny piece of ham buried under the cheese. I literally had one bite of ham on a $16 HAM egg and cheese croissant. I felt ripped off. (Edit after owner response) We didn’t need to settle it human to human. You make the food you make for the price you decide reasonable. I was leaving a review so that others looking for a good sandwich while on vacation would know beforehand that you guys skimp on ham on your $16 sandwich. I ate it and enjoyed it but it wasn’t worth the price. Simple as that. You clearly admit that your sandwich only has one tiny piece of meat and it does indeed cost $16 like I said it does.
A visit to this amazing bakery was almost a religious experience. The croissants were delectable, The fig jam and pistachio Danish and the lemon cream Danish (yes, I ate both- not gonna lie) were savory with all the flavor nuances one would hope for from a French bakery. Truly remarkable food. Thank you! (And the chocolate cherry cookie... yes I ate that too... was FABULOUS.)
Everything we've had from this sweet bakery is phenomenal. The breads are all great, the savory tiles are wonderful and the fig and pistachio Danish was so so yummy!!! Beautiful pastries ?
Went to pick up some pastries for our family vacation, an assortment of 8 pastries came to $42! Some of the choices were dry, the rest no better than you could get for much less elsewhere.
Truly the best bakery I’ve ever been to. Every time I try another bakery’s croissant I instinctively compare it to Common Good’s and so far no one has topped Common Good’s! The workers are all so friendly too. Do yourself a favor and try the chocolate almond croissant, you won’t regret it!!
The sandwiches we had were very bland not much flavor to them and the bread was very tough like leather. The baked goods were burnt, but flaky. Not a good experience with this place. Starbucks has better baked goods!
The bread on the Chicken pesto was too crunchy and burnt, like nobody cared. The service wasn’t the best either. Lady who greeted me wasn’t very friendly.. it’s like that every time I’ve gone. Do better. I don’t recommend this place. People skills need improvement.
Honestly the cookies aren’t awful but it tastes like they have absolutely no sugar in them. They hire high schoolers who have no idea how to make a coffee it’s consistently inconsistent. Iced chai tastes like tree bark. While the customer service is top tier and the employees are so kind. The pastries are mid and I would honestly rather get McDonald’s again.
I’m not a big pastry fan yet I LOVE Common Good Bakery! I walk there every Sunday with my dog and get 2 of the pear almond danishes for me and 2 cheese danishes for my husband. The flavors are outstanding and the danish basically melts in my mouth. Knowing I’m getting those danishes for breakfast definitely makes getting up worth it!
