Fell in love with Bowers 10 years ago when my best friend and I had one of our first ever wine tastings there and we got to meet the dogs..fast forward to now and this was part of a business trip I came on and we had the most fun here! The outdoor covered and open seating was nice, Cornhole boards, traveling flight hangers to carry your glasses, and of course yummy wine. I always tell people to make sure this is one of their stops if they come up Mission peninsula.
Friendly staff, wasn't too busy. Got to taste a few wines for free before ordering a full glass. Whitefish pate was delicious; don't be deceived by its store packaging.
Cute place, but I wouldn’t say the views are remarkable. Enjoyed the harvest wine flight.
Most of the vineyards on Old Mission have changed the way they do wine tastings. They now do wine "flights" and they are way more expensive! This location would at least allow you to try up to 5 wines in a flight. Most of tge other locations were doing only tastings of 3. I would also highly recommend going on a weekday or getting a reservation for a group of 4 or larger to avoid long waits. However, they had some of the best wine we've had on our trip this year. We have been doing annual wine tasting for over 11 years and this is the first time we've been inclined to join the wine club. The staff here were great and we had a great time at this location. The wine at this location was also so tasty that after tasting 5 different wines, we stayed for an additional glass of wine each. I highly recommend going to this location!
Really poor experience here, came in on a rainy day in May not a lot of traffic on this specific date. after having some positive experiences previously over many years. We were discounted to find that upon arrival we were being greeted mostly with straight forward unwelcoming questions. Very little traffic on this specific date. Due to it being a bit rainy an cold day we decided to sit inside, after staying there for a bit we were asked to leave because we were not quarterly members. We were told we could only sit in the non headed pavilion unless we wanted to become quarterly members. Overall few and expensive options for tasting or flights. Used to be a big fan, likely to skip on next journey to Old Mission. Don’t waste your time here.
Great place for wine tasting. Great wine and cider options. The staff are friendly and helpful when trying to make a decision on what to try and the preselected flights are convenient. You may want to make reservations as it is a popular tour stop and bridal shower destination. Join the wine club!
As always an excellent. Very dog friendly experience. Wonderful wine, new friends and a great staff. Thank you Bowers, for always being you.
Cute little winery but they make the visitors sit outside in the middle of winter because they are not VIP members. Came and they had 3 people inside but made us sit outside in the 20 degree weather. Not a fan. Other places have wayyyyyyy better accommodations.
Love the wine and the atmosphere and vineyard setting but very disappointed that our reserved time was not respected by the winery. We were made to wait in line for an hour with all the “walk-ins” for our wine flights. We had a reserved table but no wine! I understood they were short handed but I still feel they could have given the people with reservations priority!
Spend time here and enjoy the grounds while you're enjoying the wine.
