Lobster bisque thick enough it wouldnt pour. Full of potatoes and shrimp. Tasted old and disgusting. Main entrees were not anything special for the price.
Great views but the food was not great at all. When we left we couldn’t believe there was a line to get in. You pay for the scenery but go somewhere else for a good meal.
Dinner seems super busy here. We appreciated being able to join the waitlist online. We waited about 70 minutes overall. Once we got in, the service was fast and friendly. The bread, children’s mac and cheese, and whitefish were all fantastic!
We visited last year while driving through Traverse City and had a great meal, so found it again this year while staying in TC. Spectacular location with waterfront views of the bay make it a destination in itself, but food is excellent, staff experienced and attentive. Wife loved her bourbon chicken salad and the fried perch Rueben was a great mix of flavors and textures. Not inexpensive, but value for the cost. Busy during high season and no reservations, but efficient and nice out door bar. One of my favorite lake restaurants. Will return.
This was our favorite meal of our Circle Tour trip. Perfect weather, live music, great views and delicious food. Our server, Bill, was lots of fun. We loved this place!
We really enjoyed our Brunch here. It is one of the few restaurants with a great view of the Lake and service was very welcoming. The Brunch Buffet ($30 w/ $6 generous mimosas or bloody Mary’s) is very Midwest Americana and a great way for out of region folks to sample local favorites. Whole Smoked Salmon was among best we have ever eaten. Subtle, tender and very fresh. This is the Midwest so it is all dominated by Carbs , but there was an omelette station, carvery and some seafood. It was just a really pleasant ambiance to enjoy the view and local food. We REALLY appreciated the music which added to the beautiful atmosphere. I am so sick of 70’s old guy music ruining restaurants and here they chose great Brazilian and contemporary light jazz- BRAVO! Service was attentive but clearly the pros didn’t come in until after Brunch. It is in no way innovative or fine dining but We heartily recommend and would definitely return.
Let me just start by saying this was a great place and a great experience. The staff was incredibly friendly. The food was fantastic. The view is amazing of the bay. I had the white fish sandwich and my friends had the perch, Reuben. We all agreed it was delicious! I will come back here to try many more things. Well done! If you're in the area come and check it out.
My family and I really enjoyed the food. The kids mac and cheese was homemade, not the normal restaurant junk they give kids. I had the bisque and it was very tasty. I definitely recommend you giving this restaurant a try! (The location, right on the lake, couldn't be better either!)
We weren't sure what to expect based on reviews. However, the atmosphere was lovely, and we were seated quickly. The break was great! Extremely slow service. Both my friend and I enjoy the meals. We did get dessert to go, and the tiramisu was amazing. We did laugh, though, because my friend asked about the Key Lime Pie (which she loved) and asked if there were nuts in the pie crust because she is allergic to all nuts and the server came back and said good news there are no nuts in the pie crust. Then she brought the pie with shaved almonds on the top. My friend just took the almonds off but was a bit sad she had to lose so much whipped cream in the process!!!! :)
We had the opportunity to eat “slupper” at Apache Trout Grill & the food was excellent! The homemade bread with basil, olive oil & balsamic vinegar was really good. My husband and I shared our handhelds - Perch Reuben with sweet potato fries & Baja tacos with onion rings. So very very tasty. The servings were generous & with the hot fresh bread & dipping oil - it was too much food. Next time, we will share.
