The food is really good, staff and "manager" are awful and are people who do not know what customer service is!!! I will never go back, I may be only 1 person, but I will tell everyone I know, this place has shady waitress working and there is NO absolutely NO accountability. The old lady at the register, who's husband is a cook, called her own husband a liar. I would worry that the stuff they charge you for is padded. NEVER recommend that kind of messy business!!
Wow- usually when you try to go back to something you remember, it never measures up to your memory. Senate Coney Island is the exception. REAL POTATOfrench fries that manage to be crispy & tender at the same time, ample portions, and the besy coney islands anywhere. Prices seem like they barely increased from what I remember from 15 years ago. Support this great family business.
My family has been a patron of Senate in Taylor you years. Last night a family member called and placed an order for carry out. Before ending the call they asked how long it would be and the girl who initially took the order set the phone down without saying a word. My family member waited a minute and the girl never came back to the phone. The family member hung up and called back. This time it was a different girl had answered the phone so the family member confirmed the order and asked for a wait time. The girl told family member to hang on so she could check since she knows the item we ordered has a longer cook time. The girl came back and said it would be about 20 minutes. The family member went to pick up the food and was told it wasn’t ready because neither of the girls put it in. After some back and forth the head cook came out and stated he heard the order but it was never put in so he didn’t make it. Today the family member called back to rectify the situation and was told they (family member) never placed the order by someone who I assume is one of the owners since she’s almost always the one who is on the register and has taken previous carry out orders for us before. Literally been going to this location since the 90s and will never go back. Very saddened by the lack of care and compassion shown by an establishment that has been a part of my community for so long.
Food has always been good in my experience, but the service not so much. There's always been an issue with cooks screaming in the Three times now I've tried to pay with a credit card -- three *different* cards -- and the woman at the register couldn't "get it to work" saying it kept "asking for a code." All three times, she said "I'd call them, there's a problem with the card." All three times, I went to a store after Senate, used the card, and had no problems. Strangely, they had no issues with my debit card.Given this used to be a cash-only establishment until fairly recently, one wonders if it's isn't an attempt to force use of cash -- and indeed, the first time, the woman at the register said, "you don't have cash?" (No, I prefer not to carry/pay in cash.)Given the myriad other options in the area, I doubt we'll be back.
The waitress on afternoons are the worst so sad to see a good place go down the help is worse than nothing at all and the "Manager" Kathy is just as shaded and rude as the inept servers. Will NEVER go there again and I would never suggest based in the staff and managers food is great people are RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL

Food was good. Server was good. Unfortunately, we witnessed an ugly argument between the cooks. I thought they were going to start trading blows.
Always love going here with My Ex/Bestfriend and her son. Great Chili Cheese fries and Bacon Cheeseburger. The menu is quite diverse so there is something for everyone and they are never crowded so service is fast most of the time.
