The food was horrible. I tried to taste a variety of things but it was awful. The hot sauce was the best thing. The tamales were bad. The chimichanga was the worst. The nachos were so bad I almost puked. The meat is all the same. The chorizo is the ground beef and the ground beef is the chorizo. It's AWFUL. THE TACOS OHHHHHH THE TACOS were just sad. The beans are bland and unseasoned and the rice mirrors the beans IDENTICALLY!!!!! DO NOT EAT HERE. I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW IT WAS A RESTAURANT UNTIL I GOOGLED IT AND I'VE LIVED 4 MINUTES AWAY FOR A YEAR?
Well this trip isn't going how I'd like, seeing how I'm still not at my final destination... ???? BUUUUTTTT after spending the last few hours galavanting outside of the airport I have found this delightful piece of heaven and it made it ok again! lolIf you are looking for a tasty piece of carrot cake and absolutely great service, this is the place to come! Overall, 4 stars.The venue has a beautiful decore. The blue really compliments the dark hardwood tables. Service was great. I was greeted promptly at the door. The dining hall is well maintained and clean.The staff was extremely friendly!The food was a major improvement since my last visit. The rice really complemented the dish. The refried beans seem to be missing something-- I am just not sure what.The chicken chimichanga was good, but could be elevated a bit. It seemed rather dull, but a simi-balanced flavor-- the sour cream and guacamole really complimented the chicken, added to the texture and umami of the dish.I think what was missing was the sweet and sour components of the dish.Now for the finally, the chocolate cake. Was one of the best I ever had. It was well balanced! Not overly sweet or bitter. It was light and creamy. The fluffiness of the cake was super.I am happy they have gotten rid of the dated colored plates. Having the white ovels really helps to showcase the food.Overall, I was extremely happy with my experience, and I definitely can wait to see what will come!!Great work Matador Team!4 out of 5 stars ?

I’m so sorry Matador really went downhill. The rice tastes and looks like from a box. No white Strip of cheese on top like they used to do and the tacos are ok. Where’s the parmesan ??? that they used to put on it I don’t even see it or taste it. Actually more beef in them than last ordered. Kind of disappointing , and I’ve NEVER seen the place empty. ! I’m so sorry matador I hope you get better soon!! Matador is conveniently located in a place where there aren’t many restaurants.
New owners took a great local restaurant that built a 70 year reputation, then completely ruined it in 1 year. Amazing how bad the food has gotten. Why not stick with the same recipes? Well getting cheap and going so low quality they will never last. I expect to see the building for sale soon. Sad.
New owners did okay for a short while; however, Saturday was my last visit. Chips are no longer homemade, salsa is different, food lacks any taste whatsoever. It now tastes like someone just opened a bunch a cans and microwaved a “dish”. I was disappointed when I could no longer order a Marguerita with my meal but was still willing to overlook that. Now, however, the food is just plain tasteless. Looking for a new favorite local go to. Miss the original family owners!
I just left 20min ago it is 8:12pm Tuesday, February 22nd 2022. There is a young woman working the cashier.My total for loaded nachos was $13.78.I gave her $15 so she could put the rest in her tip jar keep in mind this was a carry out order.She places the extra dollar off to the side and asks me if I want the 22 cents? ?I asked her what happened to the extra dollar I gave you and she says, Oh, it's right here....?So basically when she thought I overpaid her she kept her mouth closed and had EVERY intention on keeping what she now knows to be as a her tip.I cannot support a company that hire teenagers where their first thought is to get over on innocent people. She didn't even hesitate to return any extra money I may have given her.*Social media needs to know*
This place takes your order and then makes whatever they want.. this was a nacho with beef and cheese.. just cheese and then when you call and say it’s wrong they say no you have to do this the menu says this.. they just tie the bag and charge you $40 for canned nasty food .. could have had tacobell better than this.. this is not Mexican this is trash
Our usual Mexican restaurants (Manuel's, Angelina's and Pancho's) were closed, so we thought we'd try Matador's. Food was lousy (chimis, rice, beans, tamales, nachos, chips), incredibly salty, poorly seasoned and not worth the cost or effort. There are many better Mexican restaurants in the area and I highly suggest one of them instead.
