Great staff and great atmosphere
Disappointed as this used to be my favorite place to go! Food has gone down the past couple of years. The servings are under portioned and the Nashville hot sandwich has no flavor what so ever! It tastes like a normal chicken sandwich. They changed how they make it and they shouldn’t even call it Nashville now. I won’t be returning. Which is unfortunate because I did love a few years ago
3.5 stars here. Good meal at a noisy beer joint. Be aware that though they want you to think it’s a German menu, the food is, for the most part, not. They have spaetzle, schnitzel, and one dish with kielbasa but there are no other menu items I would consider German. Why no sausage plates-kielbasa, brats, wursts, etc. Gotta have these to really be a German restaurant. I don’t do beer so I can’t attest to the number of German suds but I did enjoy a tasty peach cider. Our food was quite good and seems clear the kitchen knows what it’s doing. My wife had a very nice Rueben sandwich served with run of the mill chips. Great portion of corned beef with nice balance of sauerkraut and Russian dressing. I chose a large garden salad that was above average due to its freshness and the inclusion of sliced cucumber which you don’t see every day. To add to that I ordered something I love but you don’t see very often, Scotch Eggs. Hard boiled egg encased in sausage, breaded in some cases, then baked (or fried). These were very well done compared to some I’ve had. Two of these, sliced in half and drizzled with a light mustard sauce. Also topped with some smoky bacon bits. Would definitely order these again. Negatives were the intense volume of the music in the night were were here. Difficult to communicate with anyone. Also the service on our visit was spotty. Only came sporadically and needed to flag him down a couple of times as he wizzed by without a glance. Real potential to be better with a few tweaks.
This was my favorite restaurant for years but lately the service and quality of food has gone down. I ordered shrimp tacos and there was more coleslaw and tortilla than shrimp. Two shrimp in each taco is not enough. I had to ask for more and was told I had to pay extra which I did. I excepted better they used to be great!
Was looking for a place to take a friend for her birthday. She has a German background so I thought this place would be up her alley. They did not disappoint! We walked in and waited just a minute before they told us to have a Seat anywhere and the place was relatively empty. Well we must’ve been leading the crowd because the door never stop swinging once we came in. We were greeted by Tara who let us know they were menus on the table and whenever we were ready to order she was ready to take it. Quick service friendly atmosphere and wonderful food. I had oma’s veal schnitzel which was excellent with Spaetzl. My friend had the fish tacos blackened style. Those were out of this world. We started with though Praprakash soup which we couldn’t figure out what the taste was, but we both knew we liked it. Prices were fair. Neither of us are big drinkers but everybody seem to enjoy the beverages. All I can say is We will be back!
I really like this place. I come every once in a while with my husband and they always have good food and drinks with affordable prices. They are, also, pretty nice and serve your food quick. The bathrooms are always nice and clean and they have a nice and cozy environment!
First time diner in Feb 2022. Unique interior and atmosphere. Hostess Lisa was outstanding! Explained everything on menu in detail and offered some recommendations based on our input. Mixed drinks were excellent including Moscow Mule. Food was very good, arrived hot, and tasted excellent. Lisa was very available and checked with us multiple times to ensure our experience was enjoyable. We will be back and hopefully sit in Lisa's section - than you Bierkeller Team!
I wanted to love this place. I ordered schnitzel to go during the recent snow storm. The chicken was tasty, but dry. Which might have been fine except they forgot the gravy. I had to ask for my sides twice while on the phone. The fries were tasty, but not the garlic pepper fries I'd ordered.The places was pretty busy for the middle of a snow storm, so they must be doing something right. I will try again if I get back to Taylor in the future.
Stopped here for dinner on 1/30/22. The atmosphere was great, drink selection was great and the menu had a good selection too. The reuben egg rolls were awesome. The downside was that our waitress had 2 inch long nails (they were fake and this is not an exaggeration on how long they were). She brought out a bowl of chili and said it was the last of the pot. She said it was kind of burned and told my friend to taste it and if it was not good, then she would bring out a new bowl. She didn't seem to care much that we were there and we had to get her attention when we wanted to order or wanted another drink or wanted our bill.
