I've stayed in Sterling Heights 100 times and I am just now finding out about this place.Had a really nice dinner. I had the authentic corn taco dinner. Everything was great. Very fresh and barely any fat on the steak.Really really like this place. I'll be back.
I'm struggling to give this visit a 3 star. We come here 3 to 4 times a year, so we are hardly new. This time the food was not very good at all. Everything I had seemd.like it came from a frozen box from Walmart. The burrito had no flavor and was 1/2 Inch thick. The chili rellano was also 1/2 inch thick and flat like a boxed item. The beans were runny. My son did not devour his meal, and that is a rarety at this spot. Even the chips and salsa seemed old. Really disappointing all the way around. That was in February. It is April and we gave returned. I was so close to giving a 5 this time. The menu has been changed, the taco salad had a type of beef called birria. Beef stewed in spices. It was really good. My son did devour his meal. He ordered a fried ice cream which looked good. Unfortunately something bad happened right after that. We beard what sounded like searing fajita meat from table behind us. We then heard some surprised exclamations. At that point the coughing started. Our garden section area filled with smoke and a weird smelling fume. We both started coughing too. Then we could head others in the restaurant coughing also. We were breathing through our clothes and wet paper towels. The waitress came to see if we were okay and I told her that my son was having a hard time eating his ice cream. They opened up the main door and turned the overhead fan on higher. The ice cream was quickly eaten so we could leave. I not one to demand refunds, but in this instance, and since their own staff were coughing, and because we were right next to the problem, I think they should have offered to take the ice cream off the bill. So.... it was a quick and disappointing end to what would have been a good meal. Just 3 stars this time again.
Place is so good. Been going to Azteca for over 20years since they first opened up on 14 and John R. I've been going to this location for over 3years now and still one of my favorite restuarants. I had the mixed fajitas and they were on point today. This place has excellent Mexican food. Still one of my favorites after 20years.
We were looking for a new restaurant to go to and we have definitely found it. Wonderful food and terrific service. The only drawback was being a lip reader when your server wears a mask but he was very patient which helped. We had the Burritos California and left happy
Honestly I’ve been coming here for almost ten years and the service has declined drastically over the past year or so. Food is always good but one server in particular is pretty awful and we always seem to get stuck with him. Doesn’t check back, doesn’t refill drinks, didn’t even bring us chips and salsa today, we had to ask. Then when he brought the chips and salsa, our salsa bowls were about 1/3 full and we had to wait 15 minutes for him to come back so we could ask him for more. The sign at the front door says Happy Hour 12-6 “cinco de Mayo” sun- Thurs $5.99 27. Oz margaritas. We came in today (Wednesday) at 2pm. I asked him for what was on special, he had to go look at the sign, then said yes okay that is what is on special. I said okay great that’s what I want. Then he proceeded to charge us $11.99 per drink after confirming the margaritas were indeed on special. Argued and said no, no it’s $11.99. I don’t know what’s going on but we won’t be back at this location. I’m sick of the inconsistency.
excelente lugar no extrañas pa nada el terruño¡¡¡
great food, great service
I ordered Chile Relleno w/a side of beans,& rice. It was awful. It was the worst Mexican food I ever had.?? I threw it in the garbage. I did not eat anything. I should have donated my money I spent to a local charity.??
This restaurant has very delicious Mexican cuisine. Their drinks are really good, too. The servers were very kind, friendly, and knowledgeable of the menu (Thanks Luis and Anna Laura). The menu items are reasonably priced. The food is really good. You get very nice portions and everything I've had thus far has been filling. Even the chips and salsa that they bring out when your seated is fresh. This place has definitely been added to my favorites list. Great job, Grand Azteca (Sterling Heights)!
The food is awesome and the waitress is amazing! Laura is an angel!
