I love Korean BBQ and this place but giving four stars because I find a common experience is the wait staff a little over the shoulder and I'd like more space to do my own thing. Everything always taste wonderful though and its great to get a little boba next door as a dessert. Between this place or Korea Palace I like both but always choose chung ki wa.
Fantastic Korean BBQ. The staff is nice and will answer any questions you have. Great service great food enough said.
My boyfriend and I decided to eat dinner here. Bad experience. We ordered bi bim bap and explained that there shellfish/seafood allergy. The waitress said they would ask the chef if any sides had any allergic content on them. The waitress brought out 5 sides, 3 of them had fish sauce and could only eat 2. My bf has to tell the waitress to take them as they couldn't be eaten. Had to ask for 1 more of each side that could be eaten. We then proceeded to wait for our bi bim bap. When it finally came out, it had seaweed all over it which couldn't be eaten because of seafood allergies which was told to waitress about 5 times. Food has to go back and we had to wait for new ones to be cooked and brought out.Poor customer service. The waitress and other servers seemed very unfriendly to non-asian people. There was no greeting or goodbye. We were pretty much ignored, no servers checked on us to make sure food was okay or anything. The food really was not good either. The only thing we really enjoyed was the soju.We decided to try this as new possible Korean restaurant for us to eat at. We will not be coming back here again.
Very huge portions, we could not eat everything there, we had to take half with us. It was delicious and unusual, it's interesting when they roast meat right on the table in front of you..
Food was great! We ordered the galbi, bulgogi, seafood pancake, barbeque. All good and side dishes as well.
A really great place to enjoy some foods to a culture I have little exposure to. I had a beautiful time and the food tasted great to me. Loved it
Honestly if I could give this restaurant 0/5 stars, I would. We ordered the Kodari Jjim, menu item S10 (Dried pollocks and bean sprouts steamed in spicy sauce). When we came home and opened our order, we saw there were three pieces of pollack with barely any meat, the majority of the dish being bean sprouts and dduk. This is a large dish, the size of a catering tray. It’s supposed to come with lots of fish, enough to feed 4 people. At every other restaurant in the area, this dish comes packed with both fish and bean sprouts. We called the restaurant, obviously disappointed in the standard of ingredients. When we explained the situation, the manager rudely asked us, “if the food isn’t good, why didn’t you go somewhere else?” instead of offering a solution, like re-making the dish for us or giving us a refund. In fact, he insisted that he made our order himself and it definitely included 10 pieces of fish. It didn’t. To add insult to injury, he told us if we wanted a refund, we needed to bring the dish back to the restaurant. We live far north of the restaurant, 40 minutes away. We used to go to Chung Ki Wa because our family likes to enjoy Korean food, but our neighborhood has a limited offering of Asian restaurants in the area. The fact that the manager was insensitive to this situation and only offered a refund if we were to bring the dish back was disheartening, since we’ve been going out of our way to dine at their restaurant for years. We felt so disrespected as repeat customers, and will definitely not be going back. The quality of food at this restaurant has vastly gone down, and any future diners would be better off at Dae Jang Geum or Hangook Kwan. I recommend you steer clear
Great Korean barbecue overall. From their regular menu, the Yukgaejang is super spicy and tasty. They also have the best seafood pancake around.
Combo menu was great as I tried many types of barbeques at a time and all were tasty! I went to here with my friends and all were satisfied with their foods and services. :)
Not a lot of options, a little over priced.Food tasted good, our waitress actually helped cooked up our food. We appreciated that.
