Really unfortunate how service has fallen. I used to come here to get bagels almost weekly. I moved away and was back in town for a few days and wanted a good breakfast sandwich. Unfortunately my sandwich was given to someone else initially. That customer came back and returned the sandwich, they offered to just give it to him for free and then realized It was meant for me. They gave it to me with no apology or mention of the mistake. No matter how good your food is, the service is disappointing and borderlines cleanliness concerns. I will not be returning.

We came in and got in a long line behind about a dozen people and gradually worked our way towards the front. Luckily there's a menu to look at while you're waiting which is nice. Once you get to the front somebody will take your order and just so you know that same person will bring your order to you, after a while. While you're waiting you pay, honor system I guess, guy just asks what you ordered and you tell him. Then you wait, in a crowd, we didn't know how this worked so after a bit I asked the guy at the cash register and he said that he will remember us.. Eventually the same guy that took our order came out with a bag of our food and brought it to us at our table. While we waited we were able to grab a booth which was cool, always like to eat my food when it's the freshest. So the sandwiches were delicious except one was miniature, not sure why but felt kind of ripped off for a $9 or $10 sandwich it was tiny, can see in the photo. They came with bagel crisps and a pickle which was nice except the bagel crisps definitely need some cream cheese so it's sort of like an upsell. Unsold bagels turned into crisps that causes people to buy cream cheese, which is exactly what we did, got back in line for cream cheese. The garlic cream cheese was delicious also. Oh yeah the avocado on the one sandwich was pretty rock hard. Weird thing, the owner was talking to a taller gentleman who tried hittin on a girl that was there waiting and she did not like it, awwwwkward...

Excellent service and even better bagels. We get bagels once a week at my office and, until recently, they'd come from a national franchise. I offered to be the "bagel person" and wanted to try Eastside Bagel because they're close to home and OMG these bagels are phenomenal! We'll never go back to that franchise as long as I get to be in charge of bagel day

It was good. I don't care for their staff (the old guy is rude) actually i like the girls they all seem to be nice its the oldman and the young entiteled guy but anyway I ordered the bagel with lox and it was fantastic my daughter gets different varieties of there bagels and she likes them all. We did get a Cafe caramel and it tasted horrible like it was only steamed milk he actually made it twice and the 2nd time I just took it but it still tasted like just steamed milk so I tossed it. Long story short the bagles are fantastic, stay away from the espresso and men staff lol.

This place is dangerous because they have so many great bagel options. You can go in on any given morning and struggle to choose between at least a dozen flavors, ranging from sweet to savory. They're always nice and fresh, with that texture and flavor that make you think about having a second one even though you're still eating the first and telling yourself one is enough. For now. The cream cheese selection is amazing, too. They have other things like salads and sandwiches, but I honestly just go for the bagels. I'll get some for work sometimes, too, and the whole whole office loves -- ahem, devours -- them.

Have been getting bagels here for 20 yrs. Recent experiences have been very disappointing. Wait times ridiculous. Workers seem more interested in helping friends than people who come in weekly. Sandwiches have not been made correctly last several visits. Today I ordered egg, bacon, tomato bagel sandwich and after 30 min wait got alot of bacon with about half the usual egg and cheese instead of tomato. Very sad to see a place we love go down the drain.

First time I've ever been and I have to say it's much better than places I've been in New York. Appears to be family run. My girl and I both had the breakfast bagels and they were incredible. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Very rare these days.

The best bagels . Made fresh everyday. A wide variety. My favorite is cinnamon raisin with smoked salmon, or plain. Excellent customer service. Soups and sandwiches.

If you grew up on the East Coast, this is the closest to New York and New Jersey style bagels you will find. Their Everything Bagel is delicious, and while the plain bagel was a little dirtier, the bottom half of it was delicious... What would that sear that came from the oven. Also, the bagels are a tid smaller than anyone from the coast might expect, but it's not a whole distraction especially if you're looking for a diamond in the rough, which this is. I'm astonished that more people haven't done what Eastside bagels have done. However, and I say this with the utmost gratefulness for finding an actual bagel in Detroit Land... Their egg game is off. I have no idea what it takes to put together a proper workflow or cost analysis for actual eggs, but the powder eggs just don't do it. That's my only observation. I offer great thankfulness for their work!

Literally the best bagels in the area. They’re so fluffy, the staff and owner are SO nice. I’ve only been in a couple of times but will continue to drive out of the way for these bad boys ?
