I love supporting local businesses.I have eaten there 6 times, 2 breakfast, 2 lunch and 2 dinners. I always give a place a chance to show their best. Breakfast is the only meal I will purchase there. The food is over priced, the food was mediocre at best. The coney chili they say is homemade, well here is a tip, don't make it. Use National Chili. The homemade is gross. The chicken seemed precooked and rubbery. The worst corned beef in the area.
Our experience here was a great one, Christina was our waitress and was very funny and attentive. I got the chicken lemon rice soup (the best I’ve had) and the DF burger(the one with the fried onions) everything I ordered was very good. My only complaint was the friend onions on top were hard so I had to remove them from my burger. I would suggest asking for an actual onion ring instead of the friend onion petals. Everything was fresh and hot. One thing I saw here that I don’t typically see is that all the waiters worked together clearing tables/ dishes from tables/pouring coffee/ asking if we needed anything. It was almost like it was a group effort to make sure no one was forgotten about. I really liked that and wish I saw this more often. The restaurant was busy when we came but we were in and out pretty quickly, and again Christina was really funny and definitely made our experience a little more enjoyable. Great job, we will definitely be back!
I ordered the Boston creme pancakes and a side of bacon. The description of the pancakes is "stuffed" and these were just regular pancakes with the drizzle on the top. Pancakes are pancakes and they were ok, but not like their description. Also 3 pancakes and 5 pieces of pancakes was $18..... Yes $18. This place is disappointing and over priced. (April 2022)
Went Wed. March 30th around 630-7 pm for something to eat. Not busy maybe a dozen people including us. Waitress took our order and it took from 7pm till 735 pm ( per the time stamp on ticket 7pm) to get the food cooked and to our table. 35 minutes to cook the dinner is just wrong. Where was cook??? The waitress was great and even the head waitress stopped by to check on us. Can say if the meal was cold we could blame the waitress but that was not the case so it falls on the cook. Had the food not come to our table when it did we were getting ready to walk out. Oh yes there were people who came in after us and rec. their food before us using a different waitress. Was a pita fries and pulled pork and onion rings to much for the cook??? Hope it gets resolved as bad news travels fast.
Today was my first visit because I have another coney that I frequent. My friend was celebrating her birthday today so a few friends gathered who know this place. Wow, the food was good. I ordered corn beef hash with eggs. This dish isn’t on the menu but another guest has a “taste” for this dish. She asked if they could make that happen with cheese on the dish. It sounded so good I ordered it too. Amazing, no push back, happy to accommodate and the dish was excellent. The potatoes where crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The corn beef was incorporated with melted cheese and 2 eggs cooked just as ordered! Yum! I’m going back for sure. Sorry other coney, I’ll come back because I like the waitstaff, but for breakfast you’ll find me at Detroit’s Finest in St. Clair Shores.
One of the best restaurants around. Been there 3 times and ordered a carry out once and food was fantastic everytime. Service was great. Place is always clean.
Service is just okay to poor, food super average minus the gross soup, prices too high. Ordered a stir fry and I was at 20 bucks by the time I added chicken and soup. The soup was terrible, worst chicken lemon rice I've ever had(where's the lemon?)Probably won't be back, too many other places around with better food and cheaper prices.
Horrible service. Waited 30 minutes and no one came up to our table to take our order. One waitress called the other lady to wait on us and still never came over. So much for being “Detroit’s finest”
First spot to check out lunch and it was amazing . Staff was super friendly as well soooo nice and not pushy as well very on top of there game. Very family vibes there
My mom and I went here for dinner and the service was great and the food was great too! I had the lemon pasta with chicken and it was really good! I wasn't expecting there to be much lemon flavor, but I was pleasantly surprised! Our server was super polite and attentive as well!
