A delicious alternative to fast food.Star Deli is an old-fashioned New York style deli. The people who work there are friendly, caring, and full of personality. The food is delicious, serving sizes are plentiful, and the meats are of high quality. It is on the expensive side, but it's worth the extra money.

Arrived at 630 understand that they closed at 7 only for the guy to say the grill was now turned off with the most stank attitude ever. I won't be going back, ain't no special about they sandwiches especially if you have to deal with bad customer service

I’ve been coming here for years and I love the sandwiches. But my service today was horrible. The man making my sandwiches was extremely rude and made very inappropriate comments to me. I don’t care if you are the owner or how good the sandwiches are, you should be professional nonetheless.

No longer happy with this deli. This has been our favorite deli for years however, there has been a sharp decline in quality over the past couple years but prices have steadily increased. Also, owner isn't friendly but accusatory.

Great meat and sandwiches. The complaints here about a 17 buck pastrami sandwich are clueless. Go to any Jewish deli in the Detroit area and that is in the normative price range. Great salads and breads too. As to the mask enforcement, more powers to them. Its a tiny place, wear the damn mask

Happened to be driving down 12 Mile Rd. and noticed star deli. I was so excited to have noticed them because I used to come here all the time and the pastrami sandwiches were great. I walked in to order a couple of sandwiches and there were probably about five people working behind the counter. No one acknowledged me. I hadn’t been there in a while and I wasn’t even sure where to place my order or what side of the counter to order on. I stood there looking at the menu waiting for them to ask if I needed any help and during that time several customers whom they were familiar with walked in, they immediately acknowledged them, grabbed their orders and sent them on their way while all along I was just standing there. Every single person behind the counter looked at me at least once and never asked if I needed any help. I thought it was very odd and unwelcoming so I left. What a shame! I guess they have too much business and they don’t need anymore. ?

Spent $50 today at Star Deli:Bought 2 Sandwiches ( New York and Eastsider )Drinks and ChipsSadly the meat was toughRude StaffWe asked what was in the Salmon salad to one of the employees and they didn't even answer, They didn't even know what was in the salad!!This isn't the Star Deli that we remember!!Has the ownership changed??Not Star Deli QualityBad Experience , Very Disappointed :(

This place used to be a great deli in Southfield. As of today, I will no longer patronize them as they were beyond rude to me from placing my order to cashing out. As I approached the cashier to pay, I pulled my mask slightly away from my mouth to speak to the lady thru the glass while still covered and she started yelling " PLEASE KEEP YOUR MASK ON". It would have been something I just ignored until another woman decided to chime it with unnecessary comments saying"yeah these people don't get it...its not hard just keep it on". After that I had enough! My dollar is helping you all stay open in these times and I refuse to be treated badly. Especially when your food isn't as good as it used to be. Keep it up and you'll be closed this time next year!

Used to be so much better, $17 for a rueben these days. If we where in New York that's one thing but Jesus. So expensive for the decent at best quality of meats. Makes me sad to write this but it's just not worth it anymore

This place is a GEM ! D Hana you sound like someone who doesn’t care about other people quite simply. I’m glad that this business enforces masks. Go somewhere else once a week to jeopardize other people.
