Food is unseasoned and over priced considering the small portion of food. Definitely not worth it at all.
If I could give a negative-1 star I would. I ordered two fish dinners, the fish wasn’t cooked & falling apart. I called to address the problem & was told “We will hook you up the next time you come”. This is unacceptable, hopefully I won’t get sick from eating a piece of uncooked fish! SMH
Food on point, never any issues and always hot! Sides are not great, very average. Fish and esp the shrimp are excellent!
Definitely disappointed aside from the order being wrong. Chicken looked good smelled weird (didn't eat). Fish was not the one we order (didn't eat). Mushrooms really greasy (couldn't eat) and being from Detroit I really wanted to try this place. Also, having the employee or maybe manager try to grim you (lol) when they pull up while you're waiting for your food is more than enough to never spend my money here even without the food issues. Everything else is why I would suggest no one else does just go to the city. It's over priced and definitely not Detroit I wish I could've tried it when it was black owned seems like that's where it's popularity came from.
I want to thank Detroit Fish & Shrimp restaurant, they are the cleanness restaurant in Southfield. PERIOD. They keep their grease fresh and clean. They inside restaurant is excellent clean. Every time you go in their their workers wiping down the counters and sweeping floor and mopping. I love to order food from this place, I drive about thirty miles to come to this place, it's dam worth spending gas. The food is excellent, tasty it's amazing. Thank you guys for bringing fresh and good tasty food to Southfield MI. I want to respond to the review Pia. She complaining about over price food. It's worth it they food is fresh and clean. What do she expects it's seafood. Or do she like the nasty owners who had the restaurant previous before this new restaurant owners. People don't know the value of good food. People do not know a blessing with when they see one.
Literally the best place you can go too love the food love the customer service clean food clean place the shrimp is amazing and the chicken too you have to try the fish as well all of the food is amazing to be honest I would for sure come back here again
Great food, Great service! Come here very often, fries are always crispy and fresh how I like it, zane is outstanding, he always hooks it up.
The location that I went to was on Southfield Rd and it is not the original Detroit Fish & Shrimp. They are under new ownership and have bought the name. They should've bought their recipes too. Doesn't even compare to the original.
Flavor was okay, but I couldn’t get pass the grease. The entire meal was extremely greasy. My stomach was upset from the amount of oil not drained out of the fish, fries, and shrimp. Now that I’ve realized it’s under new ownership, I definitely won’t be returning. The old owners did a great job running the business.
Very quick service and friendly staff and the shrimp was delicious. BEST SHRIMP IN TOWN
