I am beyond disappointed in Dâamatoâs for the treatment I both experienced and watched. I made reservations for brunch and called to make sure there was space near the live band for us. The hostess informed us that there was plenty of room. Upon arrival, my partner and I(black) were escorted to the very back of the restaurant. We asked for another table. We were told that the front tables were for âreservationsâ. We had reservations. Upon further inspection, we noticed that each and every black party that had a reservation, was placed in the very back of the restaurant. We eventually were offered a table but told we were limited to 60 mins as there were âsome guysâ whoâs reservation seemed to be more important( Iâll let you guess their ethnicity). Me, a 10 year Chief Diversity Officer, took it as a learning opportunity and teachable moment. I explained to the manager that though I didnât believe the situation to be intentional, perception is everything. And the environment was painting a picture of his establishment. He admonished me for ânot understandingââhis reservation process. He further more told me not to âgo down that road with himâ. I simply said ok, requested my check for the 2 drinks we had, and informed them that we wouldnât be back. Very unfortunate. I am very dissatisfied and sad. I expected more from their restaurant and more from the city of Royal Oak. If youâre Caucasian, go and enjoy. If youâre an individual of difference, find somewhere more inclusive to spend your money.

The waitress was incredible and took my allergies seriously, I really appreciated that she came back to talk to me about what the allergies were after speaking to the chef
22 years ago this was our favorite place, we had our rehearsal dinner here (upstairs ð). Today we were back to celebrate our oldests 19th birthday. So many things are the same and we really enjoyed what's new. Our meals & service were great! We'll be back, just wish we could still walk over like the old days, lol.
Our absolute favorite place- we come for anniversaries, birthdays, or any old day of the week. Service is always impeccable, food has been mastered, and owners take pride in their business.
Took my wife here for her birthday. Food was great and the service was exceptional! They even brought out a dessert on the house. We will be coming back :)
Friends birthday and very good food and service. Screaming kids running around the restaurant, but not the family of the restaurant, just the parents. Pretty expensive, but good.
First time eating in here, I normally order carry-out. Very impressed with the service! I recommend this place to all of my friends.
