Food was excellent. Atmosphere was there with old school menu. The radio playing not to loud. Looks like a lot of years collecting things in restaurant.
I stopped by on a whim about 2 months ago and since then have made this diner my favorite breakfast/sandwich shop. The owner is an awesome dude who is always super friendly and welcoming. They use quality ingredients to make amazing food. Their house smoked pastrami is melt in your mouth good. Their sausage gravy is the best I've ever had. Do yourself a favor and stop in. I promise you won't regret it.
My first visit there.Had the mushroom swiss burger, and fries. The burger is the best I've had in a very long time, you will not be asking where's the beef, they make their fries, not frozen, and it shows. Definitely recommend giving this place a try.
Ok I know that I give alot of 5 stars out but with old school I would give 10 stars. Steve (the owner, stop on in trust me he will come talk to you) was put on earth for one reason in my eyes and that is to make some of the best God damn food on the planet. I've never ordered the Same thing 2x and I have not once been anything but amazed. You want good food (good tasting good for your soul ehhhh physical health I'm gonna lean towards hey I'm not a doctor I'm not qualified to give medical advice) and the price in my opinion is to low. Its the most affordable meal you'll eat this year. Seriously old school is a must.
Great food, excellent service. Owner socializes with customers. Ambiance is that of an old school restaurant. Definitely should be on everyone's try list.

There are several reasons I rated this restaurant lower than a 5. I find it odd,the same day that the restaurant was featured on WDIV, they had ONE waitress, who was not equipped to handle all of the diner by herself. I finally got up and got my own coffee! They never noticed! As far as the food goes, good job! ? But when I went in the restaurant was full of stale or very cheap cigarette smoking. It was definitely the staff, maybe in the backroom. If it was someone ? smoking outdoors, close the door. People who don't smoke and have adverse reactions to the smoke don't like the odor. They should not be smoking in a food prep area. ? The other issue was food that was featured was all gone, you couldn't whip up some sauce for eggs Bennie! Its not that hard! When the waitress was at the table next to us, she said they had not had grits for at least three days, again send someone to the store!!! If you ran out of eggs you mean to tell me you wouldn't get more? Same with the hollandaise sauce, it is not that hard to make!!! Kind of leaves me with the impression that it is not made from scratch. My kids ❤️ actually used to ask what scratch was, I said when Momma doesn't have it ready made or just add water stuff ( From the TV I assumed it was the later) My kids asked for cornbread and beans. I said it is really late, I make that from scratch, my son said well let's go to the store and get some scratch then, LOL ? Maybe I should show you how to make it from scratch ??
Not impressed. They brag about certain items but they didn't have any. Prices are a little high. My hamburger meat was not cooked all the way. They were closing early cause the cook was tired.
