Walked in excited to order and enjoy the food, but was overwhelmed by the smell of cigars...The exhaust from the tobacco shop next door is somehow entering the fresh air ductwork of the restaurant.I see this has been a problem for quite some time according to the reviews.This is just sad and shows they know about the issue but have chosen not to correct the problem.It literally smells like someone is smoking a cigar in the building.
Got carry out so I did not take photos of our food, but I ordered two ultimate taco combos. We tried the carne asada, pollo asado, Al pastor, carne a la Mexicana, and the pollo a la Mexicana. The meats a la Mexicana were really good, but the al pastor was amazing. I would highly recommend. Their beans and rice are simple, but good. I wish their salsa were hotter and they gave more onion/cilantro.I do not understand the negative reviews. You walk up to a counter and order. There is no server. I don’t think the employees are particularly rude. And the food is consistently good.
Don't order vegetarian nachos. It's pretty bad. Felt like eating a salad on top of nachos, absolutely loaded with lettuce. They used the kind of cheese you get on gas station nachos. Most of my chips were soggy by the time I got home. They should cost a fraction of what they sell them for, definitely too expensive for a meal that was worse than what I'd make at home.
When you start with great food, everyrhing else is a bonus! Love this local Mexican food restaurant. The space is edgy and bright, the people are dedicated and working hard and the food is high quality. This is our new go-to for tacos and the burrito was amazing!

Man I don’t get all the poor reviews… ordered this yesterday for me and my co workers! Big order. And everything was super good everyone said. I enjoyed my food as well thought it was tasty! We ordered the fries with everything on them.. a monster burrito, a el gordo dog, a loaded taco and a baked burrito! Everything was great

I hate to do this as I know it's tough to find good employees these days....and we keep giving Carnival chances to impress. But, they've gotten our order wrong and/or served up some subpar food the last 3 times.I want them to succeed but they need to do a LOT better. Hearing similar complaints from others giving them a go as well.
Carne asada burrito is overpriced and almost tasteless. It was filled with lettuce that tasted like a worse version of Taco Bells pre-bagged lettuce. If you want the real Carnival go to the location in Pontiac...
