First time ever having Monelli's and they didn't disappoint. The waiter Z was amazing with a table full of kids. Started us with the bread which was amazing. Offered us drink specials I high recommend the black razz whiskey sour it was on point had the southwest chicken salad with some added shrimp the blackened seasoning was to die for. Followed by the FREE Birthday dessert I chose the lava cake covered in caramel and chocolate (not pictured because I ate it so fast).. I will definitely be back!
Great service, large portions, and expertly crafted food. I tried the Rigatoni Al Forno topped with a steak and I was absolutely delighted. Their Caesar salad was downright perfect too. I would highly recommend this place.
I got the lobster fettuccine (i definitely recommend) and my bf got the spaghetti (stay home and make your own) and a meatball. Noodles were undercooked, but once reheated at home they were fine.Meatballs are 1.50 each, you'd think they'd be decent sized. Nope. It was brussels sprout sized lololol.Service was slow but everyone was friendly.
Food is amazing. Same quality I remember from way back in the day (2006 when I worked at the OG location). Ashley the bartender is an absolute snipe that never let my beer get close to empty. 10/10 will be back when I’m in the area next.
Service was very poor. We were in there for almost an hour after ordering to get our food. Had to keep flagging a waitress down to get refills and anything else we needed. Was never checked on until after all food was finished. Personally I would say food is overpriced and that is fine if you have quality service, however not the case here. We will not be returning as this is unacceptable in my book.
Excellent staff, great food, awesome environment! Monelli's is one of the top places to eat in the area for me! Thank you!Update: Changing 5 stars to 4 stars unfortunately. The "LOBSTER SPINACH FETTUCCINI" was one of my favorite dishes in the Kalamazoo area. This was my primary go to when I went to Monelli's. They are now using canned shredded lobster rather than cut up chunks of lobster. I was not impressed when I received my dish with extra lobster ( more $$) just to find out it is not the same. Rather than chunks of lobster in the dish its just kind of in there in tiny pieces. I hope to see the original dish come back in the near future.
