I purchased a Groupon for this restaurant.I probably would never have given it a try otherwise.Everything on the menu is vegan.We ordered nachos, chili, strawberry shake, sweet potato fries and a chocolate chip cookie.The nachos and chili were very good although skimpy in size.The shake was good and it had a delicate flavor.The sweet potato fries were tasty and crispy.The cookie had a unique flavor that I couldn't place.The restaurant has an eclectic decor with an up-beat atmosphere.The owner is very friendly and warm.I wish there were more offerings on the menu.I could see myself coming back to enjoy the eclectic feel itself.I am not vegan myself but was satisfied with the food and felt satiated.I am looking forward to coming back.
Delicious! I’ve been a vegetarian for about 4 years or so and always struggle with finding food I can actually eat when going out. P “vegetarian” food at most places is filled with cheese and carbs like no one knows how to eat or make a vegetable, other than salad. My other major issue is vegetarian that is super spicy. My Gerd is the main reason I’m a vegetarian so how am I supposed to handle spicy food? The food is so good here I don’t see how a meat eater can complain and it’s nice to have a menu of options. I have a ton of food sensitivities and finding out cheese and eggs contribute to some of my problems so it’s nice to come to a place like this and not stress and worry about what I’m eating like I do with any other place. I call vegan food “no hurtty food”. Going to places like this are rare chances to go out and feel completely fine after eating. Considering vegan. Cute place my meat loving boyfriend likes going to vegan restaurants so I’d encourage anyone to check it out. Just try it…These places need to stay open and continue the fight for healthier food options.
i have mostly had the sweets from shimmy shack and have enjoyed all of the ones that i've eaten. the shim mint cookie & chocolate chip pumpkin bread are definitely my faves! we took a medley of treats to my in-laws last night.... they are neither vegan nor gluten free but they were in heaven! i look forward to trying the house burger & coney dog in the near future.
Finally got around to coming here, and my WORD is it good. It feels criminal that there isn’t more people coming here. We got some baked goods, the coney, and chili cheese fries. There’s a lot of good food I’ve enjoyed, but WOW was this excellent! The chili is absolutely packed with flavor, and the coney was a marinated carrot which surprised me greatly at how well it held up as a substitution. The pita it was wrapped in was a unique choice, but one that worked well.The place is also absolutely decorated to the brim, and gives it a lovely atmosphere that was very enjoyable. Overall, I know I WILL be coming back. I had good expectations but this blew those out of the water. Make your way here now!
The food was amazing, the service was fast, and the shop dog was SO CUTE!!!! My only "complaint" is that I wish more people knew about this place. It didn't deserve to be so empty on a Saturday night.
This place is just so cool! Love the retro vibes- and the food! The falafel pita is delicious, and the sweet potato ? chili ? and the lemon ? bar. Can’t wait to go back and try everything! All vegan and gluten free, such a gem ? of a spot.

I live in the area and have been vegan for 2 years and never knew about this place! Came and ordered a double cheeseburger, a coney dog, and a lemon bar. I love seeing more vegan restaurants like this popping up. The lentil burger and lemon bar were sooo good. On the burger I removed the ketchup and mustard and added the Shimmy sauce instead! The Coney dog was good too. The carrot was kind of small and still crunchy but the coney on top was really good. Will be a frequent customer going forward!
We hired Shimmyshack to serve at my Moms memorial. The food was amazing and the staff were great with our guests. Best vegan food I’ve had in a long time outside of my own kitchen.
The food is pretty good, but they're super slow, don't answer the phone, and online ordering is unavailable. Sorry but don't have time to wait 30-45 min on a take out order after I get there. Stopped again today, on Aug. 18th, supposed to be open at 4:30pm per their sign and message on the answering machine, but closed no one here. This is no way to run a business.
