We love the sushi rolls here but really all of their food is good. My 8 year old son likes to “ghost hunt” while we’re here. Lol.

Great food and service always

Made reservations for our Anniversary dinner. Our meal was superb, beginning with cocktails, sushi rolls, salad and our salmon teriyaki & sea bass entrées were delicious! Shiro's wait staff worked hard to keep up with busy table requests. The only downside was our room volume became loud once a table of 6 were seated next to us.

A really unique environment in an old mansion. We sat upstairs that was not as intimate as it would appear on the website pictures. Nevertheless, really great/fast service. The two of us ordered 4 small plates, miso soups, and a roll to share for dinner. The pork belly and panko cod really stood out. The Hamachi Crudo and Ahi Tuna was good but very small portions.

Server was great! Food was great! I would definitely come back.

On March 22, I was visiting from out of town because I’m moving to the Novi area. My friends recommended Shiro and the 3 of us went for dinner. We sat upstairs and we were the only ones up there, not too busy. I might give this place another chance but definitely not because of the experience I had that night. The “host” was dressed casual, gym shoes and what looked like a hoodie, definitely took away from the setting and BAD first impression. He was very young and seemed completely uninterested to be there or dealing with our seating, barely made eye contact. It felt as if he was working at his parents restaurant and was being punished to work, his demeanors were as if we interrupted him doing something. Our waitress had a frantic energy, and her service style was definitely from an Applebee’s type of venue. She wasn’t knowledgeable and brought our main courses while we still had appetizers in front of us. We spent GOOD money, minimum 250$. I didn’t pay for the tab so I can’t be sure but I know what we ordered. From cocktails to appetizers with fresh sashimi to seafood main course to 2 desserts, tea and coffee. I have included some photos describing my dining experience. When she delivered the desserts she THREW, threw, the 3 spoons in the middle of the table. This is the most Applebees or IHOPs service gesture I can imagine and even there I have received classier service.I DO NOT blame the host or waitress 100% but more the management who hires individuals who aren’t trained for upper scale dining venues, pays them, without any doubt, minimum wage, and charges patrons top dollar for food that’s o.k. and wasn’t seasoned enough, plus less than mediocre service. This is an excellent example where a great service would have shadowed the so so flavor of the dishes. Sashimi was dry and I am pretty certain the fish wasn’t all fresh but frozen. I grew up in an island in the south of Italy, they can’t fool me. Both food and customer service fell short.I didn’t say that night because I didn’t pay and also I didn’t want to spoil the mood! My girlfriend and I kept looking at each other and few times we literally laughed at what was happening. She felt bad because she had talked Shiro up to me.Dear Shiro management: train your staff to have the class and sophistication you claim to sell.

You will need a reservation to sit at a proper table on a busy night. The sushi bar is first come first served for seating, but make a reservation if you can. The decor needs some help, very bare walls with little to look at. The table settings are also bland with no glam. The stair case as soon as you walk in is nice, it adds to the decor of this being an old mansion turned into a sushi restaurant. The food is great. Soup or salad comes with the meal. I had the spicy chicken soup. At first it seems very spicy, because I was slurping it, after it cools off a bit the spice also seemed to dissipate. The sushi, chefs choice is nice, you can make requests for what you do or don't want. The teriyaki items came recommend by the waiter, but I was disappointed because the teriyaki sauce seemed watered down and didn't have much flavor. The best part of the meal was the green tea cheesecake. The texture is amazing, with it being so creamy it will melt in your mouth.

Great place has a vintage looking, one of the best sushi places to go, staff is wonderful.

This restaurant has great sushi, noodle and entrée options for everyone. I tend to stick to basic cooked rolls and they did not disappoint. I'd also give the hot sake a try, I was hesitant at first but it packs a punch in the best way. The atmosphere is casual but could easily be elegant and intimate for any occasion.

It’s been a few years since I have been to shiros and it is not the same. Our service wasn’t great. Our waitress was not attentive and frantic. Our food came out in an odd order and the waitress wasn’t able to guide us when we asked questions about the food. Our table was left with old plates, and our water glasses were empty. The ice cream I ordered was so aggressively/frantically placed on the table it almost tipped over. The sea bass I ordered was decent and plated well but it was better a few years ago. The fish wasn’t as fresh as it used to be. I think it was previously frozen whereas before it wasn’t or at least didn’t seem like it. The calamari used to be my favorite dish, today it looked like onion rings. I have never seen calamari look this way and the sauce they used to toss it in is now on the side and the taste is different. My drink was very good and the dessert prices were very fair. Before I would recommend with certainty, now I would possibly recommend with caution.
