The food is excellent and they are very customer friendly. I highly recommend Border Cantina. They are the best!

Let me start out by saying this is my first bad review ANYWHERE! Even if I have a bad experience, I just let it go.. But I’m shocked.My family and I went here for Mother’s Day. We got there before 430pm we wait OVER AN HOUR! And they didn’t even start out food: we have two SALADS! 1 kids chicken tender and a fajita. We asked our server how long it was going to take… and she didn’t even come back and tell us: so my mom said went and asked.. before the bartender came up to tell us they didn’t even start it yet… SHE STOPPED AND TOOK A PICTURE!
First time here & really liked it. passed this place 40 times, finally glad I had time to stop. Service was phenomenal, food was great, margarita was delicious. Other customers nearby our table were friendly. Had a good meal & a good time
Took my family to celebrate two birthdays and everyone agreed they wanted Mexican food. As always the food was very good, but the service was just bad. We had a table of seven, arrived early and were promptly seated. Got drinks after a waiting ten minutes for someone to serve us. Ordered and then again waited 20 minutes for food to arrive and could never find the server to complain. We wanted to order dessert and additional drinks, but git so fed up of waiting that i tracked down another server to bring us our bill. Finally our server shows up with the bill and says can i get you dessert or anything else. I said that would have been nice 30 minutes ago. She responded " you should have come and found me." I said last i checked I'm the customer and you should be checking on me. Unbelievable!!! Have to think hard about going back there again.
I ordered a carry out, it was my first time ordering from this establishment. Got home which is not far from the Novi location. I got home and opened the steak fajitas, the steak was not even luke warm, it was sitting on a bunch of onions, there were maybe 3 thin strips of green pepper. The steak was bland, no seasoning. I had also ordered the guacamole appetizer, it was runny and literally no taste and the chips tasted stale, definitely not worth the over $10 price for that appetizer. Very disappointed.
If I can leave a 0 I would. Went there at 2:30 on Sunday (not that busy). After 10 minutes of sitting there with no one coming to the table, our waitress comes to take drink order. Ordered 2 cokes, she comes back to the table with 2 soda waters. You can clearly see that the coke needed to be changed. Called her back to the table and told her the coke needs to be changed out. She came back to the table a couple minutes later with 2 drinks. As soon a we tasted it you can tell it was diet. So I called the waitress back and told her that it was wrong again and that she gave us diet. She said that she was short staffed and didn't get a chance to tell her manager that the coke was out. I said so you tried to trick us? She then got rude and said she was short staffed again. She then goes the bar and stands their and talks to 2 other employees. Short staff but you can go and talk to 2 other people behind the bar. All the server had to say I am sorry we need to change the machine it will be just a minute. No she wants to be rude

The best meal AND service I've gotten anywhere in a while. My waitress Nicole was AMAZING. The food was good quality and serving sizes. Refills were fast and correct. She didn't have any type of attitude for us being there. It was an enjoyable experience. Will be going back often
I have seen the ups and downs of this place. I quit going for many years. About a year ago I tried it again and felt improvements have been made. Food seems cleaner. They used to be very sloppy. I don't expect perfection here. Their price point on the food is reasonable, especially for the area. Consistancy is iffy. Good lunch specials that run late.
Food was amazing and very clean. We picked a bad night to go due to too many larger parties in the area where we were seated. You had to scream to talk to each other. We will go back, but not on a Friday night. My decibel meter was at 85-90 during our whole meal. Sorry, you lost one star due to your hostess sitting a party of 2 with large loud parties when you had plenty of seating left.
