Well this is going to be a long post with pics! I haven’t ever had a better customer service and fine dining experience that is well worth the price. Maryanna Deli FOH Manager is super at what she does .. welcoming all the guests making sure everything is to customer perfection with the best smile ! and Ben makes sure the kiddos are beyond entertained making adulting a little easier this mommy’s weekend! If you haven’t been here let me encourage you that you’ll be surprised with this incredible experience! The drinks are out of this world with happy hour during the week and Sunday 3$ drinks .. Long Island mimosa and one more I can’t remember because their martinis are the best and I already had a few .. see pics .. though we live in Ohio .. this place has my dining heart for steak! We will be back! And yes this lava rock cooks each piece to personal perfection!
I tell you, I have really tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt. However, sometimes you just have to give the review that is actually deserved. We arrived at the restaurant for a birthday celebration. Upon entering and explaining such, we were informed by the manager that our party was told that only eight people could be accommodated. Granted the reservation was made two weeks prior and at the time of our arrival only three people of the eight were present. Now usually you do get at least an escort to the table...Not us, we got "she's around the corner to the left." When others from the group arrived they were told that the wait time was an additional hour despite the fact that there were many open seats throughout the restaurant including nearby our table. One of the highlights is the volcano dessert offered for the birthday celebrant. Well,even that was a waste. The brownie was hard so the birthday celebrant wouldn't eat it...can't say that I blame her. When the bills arrived for our table of only 6 persons...we all paid separately...3 people on 1 bill, 2 people on another, and 1 single tab...18% gratuity was added to each bill. I am not against paying for service and truly don't mind tipping my server, but I think an automatic addition to a bill of two persons is a bit much. All in all, the place left a lot to be desired and I personally will not be visiting this location again.
Experience was good for the location, bad for the business.The bartender was good for the most part and the manager too. The issue I had was with the menu. Wanted the vegetarian Gluten free art of Sicily Mushroom Ravioli, but there is a meat version of the same dish with gluten and cheese. The entree was supposed to be a truffle wine sauce but had so much cheese on it was inedible. Nowhere in the description did it mention drowning the dish in cheese. This review is a reflection of the business in General not the location. Please Change the vegetarian dishes to unique names to avoid this. Be Better
A delicious piece of meat with great service. I will return again and again. The drinks were also great just the way I like my scotch.
Terrible service waiting for 4 hours never got food. We walked out I will never go there again restroom nasty?????? manger sorry an staff ?
Waited over an hour and our steaks were never brought to us. Ended up leaving with no dinner. No communication from waitress. Hostess was rude. Worst service I have ever had at a restaurant.
My first time enjoyed the experience of cooking on a hot ? rock that stayed hot . The entire staff was on point with excellent service. My grandkids and I ate inside the outdoor heated dining room. Clean and very kid friendly. Bar area seating with big TV's playing sports or whatever you want to see. The menu is pricey and has plenty of affordable meals and appetizers
Been wanting to try Black Rock so, we finally went.1st we did not know that you had to call before 4:00 for priority seating. So we took our chances on a Friday night. We got to the restaurant at 6:15, and got seated right away!!We waited almost 15 minutes before the waiter even greeted us. Another table had been waiting 20 minutes that was near us. We placed our order for an appetizer and drinks. Drinks took about 10 minutes to get to us, and the app took about 30 minutes. We ordered our dinner as soon as the waiter came back to the table (another 10 min). We did not order it with the app as we wanted to make sure we could enjoy them. We had steaks, salads, baked potato, onion rings. Our salad came right out, but the steaks took another 15, and of course they are not cooked, because that is what the experience is all about, the black rock.The pretzels and cheese is wonderful. The steaks were nice and tender.For a 2 hour meal, the food was wonderful (5 stars), the service was horrible (1/2 star). Management comped 25% off, but we do not plan on visiting the Novi location again.
Great atmosphere and experience. Food was delicious manager made sure everyone was alright multiple times in a pleasent not bothersome way. To make a great night even better the waitress was very nice respectful and on point. She even kept my wife laughing with good conversation when she was checking on us. We will definitely be back.
2 stars because the food was good, but everything else we experienced was beyond poor. I made reservations for my family for 5:30, giving us 2 hours to enjoy the Black Rock experience before our Escape Room time of 7:45. We arrived 10 minutes early, only to be told we did not have actual reservations, just priority seating, and it would be 30 minutes to get seated and because the kitchen was so backed up, another hour after that to get our food. In reality, the food came at 7:20 giving us only 10 minutes before we had to leave. We were unable to go elsewhere because at 5:30 pm on a Saturday, in that area, it would be a long wait to accommodate our party of 13.
