I am definitely not an expert here, but the food was very good. Tried it based upon a co-worker's recommendation. Probably the best rolls I have had thus far. Also tried a Chirashi bowl which was excellent. Will definitely be back.
I ordered the Tetsugaku (Pork Curry), and was blown away by the flavor. I am a fan of curry, and had never tasted a Japanese curried dish. The Ohara noodle dish is quite tasty as well. I will definitely very returning soon!
Excellent food. Best Japanese restaurant around. Be prepared for the wait if you don’t get there before they open for lunch.Place is small and cozy.
Had to throw my tuna roll, my sashimi away.. tasted old, no tuna in in the Roll..Was expecting more quality. I’m sorry but that’s what happened today, the soup was good.. but everything else was not there
It is incredible. Price is still very cheap (most of them are under $10) taste is still delicious. Thank you for being same awesome for past 20 years.
So I have a lot of dietary restrictions due to certain health conditions. Nigiri (without any sauces) is one of the only Japanese/Eastern Asain foods I can tolerate. Usually when I order it, I don’t expect to much flavor and for it to be a little dry. Then I ate plain nigiri from Ajishin. I don’t know their secret, but it was DELICIOUS. And if THAT was delicious, I can only imagine what everything else on the menu tastes like! ?
Found this place by accident and was so happy I did. Their Udon was absolutely amazing and cannot wait to go back when I'm in the area.
Food used to be cheap given the quality. After the onset of the pandemic the owners had decided that they would only do curb side pickups and increased the prices by $2+ dollars despite having several patrons in the area who would follow the mask mandate and the vaccination policy. This reduced the quality and taste of the food drastically - as food would cool or taste slightly of the styrofoam containers it would be served in. I understand the venue is small and may not be suitable for great ventilation but there could have been other methods to cater to the wants of customers. For example, restaurants in nyc have set up outdoor dining; given the large parking spaces outside, the restaurant could have asked the city for a permit to use that space to their advantage. What was once a heavily anticipated and long awaited food establishment has dwindled- a lot of my acquaintances, coworkers, and family members who have traveled far from Novi has deemed that the travel was not worth it. Best of luck to the owners - this may have been the best public health practice but as an entrepreneur this wasn’t the best business move.
Ajishin is one of our favourite Japanese restaurants for soups, sushi, rolls and noodles. In an area where there is a high number of Japanese restaurants this one is always busy and it’s patrons are often the local Japanese expats which tells you something. Udon Ajishin is a great lunch or dinner choice, but everything we have had here is the best quality and we have never been disappointed. Their service is also impeccable and we hope they are successful for a long time to come.
Inexpensive, tasty, and the best quality and value in Michigan. My fam drives 40 mins each way for the udon and salmon belly. It’s so worth!Even my Japanese university teachers would drive that distance just for Ajishin
