Food was... Is ahhhmazing as usual! I'm in love with the smothered chicken meal. And as far as salad bars, Whitlow's has been and always will be my favorite place to go. Not to mention, the staff is ALWAYS friendly and on point. Very accommodating as well.
I like this grill/saloon its oldskool and somtimes oldskool is good and this is one of those places. When Im passing through I like to stop and get The Ruben because is top of the line, my girl got the Chicken sandwich for the 1st ( we both usually get the Rubens) and she said it was fresh and had a nice flavor. Great stop always
Went for the liver and onions. Was not disappointed! Lots of grilled onions and cooked perfectly. My wife's chicken was very good too.
Supposed to be a good place to get great perch, but 2 people who ordered it found it not as good as they remembered. I had steelhead which I found poor...little like shoe leather. The fries were very good, though.
Lots of taxidermy here-a whole room full of it!
Love this place, it is exactly as I remember years ago when I was a kid. Good food, fair prices and relaxed atmosphere. Our server was awesome! There were 12 of our family that stopped here after a funeral, and she handled our table efficiently, kindly, and without help. Thank you for an excellent family dinner that was on bright spot on what was otherwise a very sad day for us.
The service and food were great. I love the atmosphere with all the animals everywhere. My whole experience was complete from start to finish.
So much disappointment when I was told such a great place. Made a reservation a week prior, it was not in the books. 15 minutes for a server.Bread basket..no rolls, had to flag down a bus person.Salad bar out of 5 items.Asked waitress to please wait till we were done with salad to put our order in.However the salad bar was out of 5 items. So I had to go back/forth 3x.Friend got prime rib. He ordered MW it was MR. Sent back. Came back same way not to mention once he trimmed the fat he had about 6 bites of meat that he took home.The best thing was the baked potato and the blue cheese dressing.Just to show I'm a great customer and former "server" of 30 yrs, I snuck over to our server at the VERY (before even the breadbasketbeginning and put $5 in her apron hoping it would encourage her for good service AND left her another $5 upon leaving.I now see why there are negative reviews.I really should have asked for a gift certificate or discount but I didn't want to embarrass my guest. And they were swamped.I want to give them a 2nd chance, however I'm hoping if I explain what happened to Charlie he will comp my meal?
My first and last time dining there. Our waitress was super pleasant, but the food was mediocre. The chicken gravy tasted like dish soap, and my smothered chicken had no flavor.
changed the perch..very small fishy no breading..big dissappoint from there original perch. Not going back.
