I cannot stress enough how folks should not and must not eat this garbage. I ordered honey chicken and fried rice around 7pm. The "fried rice" had clearly been sitting in a warmer since they opened in the morning. It was rubbery, burnt, smelled weird and tasted worse. The honey chicken was cooked through (shockingly) but was super dry, soggy and tasteless. The honey sauce was weird and oily and didn't have any flavor resembling chinese food. Idk what happened to House of China over the years, but this is not it. So disappointed.
$28.20 is what I spent on an order of Crab Rangoons, large Orange chicken with fried rice, large General chicken with fried rice and a large beef lo mein. They gave me over cooked chicken rolled in fake orange sauce that didn’t even taste like orange. The lo mein isn’t even real lo mein noodles… it’s ramen! Threw in some vegetables and little beef sauce, just call it ramen noodles not lo mein. I came here because Yum Yum Sushi wasn’t open, it’ll never happen again!
I always give a location two chances to impress me. You never know from one incident and as a former chef, "things happen".The location is easy to find, the exterior looks a bit dated, the interior is a bit overwhelming with décor.Ordering over the phone from google maps information and menu was very easy.Ordered crab Rangoon (6), vegetable eggrolls (2), and small order of beef broccoli. This with an estimated time of ten minutes.Cost was good for quantity of food to comparable other places offering same cuisine.Staff was friendly and food was ready per the quoted time. FYI...This restaurant does not take credit/debit, so bring cash.Food was not bad but not to my liking. I have never had beef broccoli with so much brown gravy, as you could tell they used more than enough starch to thicken. Good amount of beef, but only four flowerets of broccoli and a lot of sweet onion. Flavor was good but not typical of other restaurants for the same dish. Two large scoops of rice accompanied. Crab Rangoon was very tasty and very crispy. Egg rolls were a little off in flavor from what I am use to, but not bad.
Excellent food, great portions for your money. But they do not accept credit cards.
Love their food. Has to be my favorite cheap Chinese food in muskegon. They have always been consistent.
I ordered General Chicken and paid extra for the fried rice. The sauce is congealed. The fried rice was not what I expected. The chicken in the rice is very tasteless and dry. Plus it is just rice with chicken and something to turn it brown.
Horrific experience. Food was bland slime and was immediately tossed into the trash. The lo mein was just beef Ramen. The beef broccoli had something like canned brown gravy on it. The fried rice was worse than rice a roni. Nothing redeeming about this experience.
Absolutely disgusting! Undercooked, slimy, all of it went in the garbage ? took pictures to document it. Ending up driving to get China Star. 10/10 wouldn't recommend EVER.. TRASH.

Ordered Crab Rangoons, Potstickers and soup, was under 10bux and they were AH-MAZING! Best crab rangoons and pot stickers in West Michigan! plus had pot pot stickers reheated the next day they were CRAZY good too. yep will be back!
