Take out service is consistently horrible. At least half the time we try to order they won’t pick up the phone, so we have to order elsewhere. Tonight we were ‘Lucky’s’ enough that they actually picked up, but were asked if we could be put on hold for ‘a moment’. I cautiously said yes, and as expected a moment there lasts is 8 min 20 sec long. Finally able to place our order. Another word of caution, check your order before you leave as about 30-40 percent of the time an item will be missing or incorrect. My son is a chef so I don’t like to beat up on the hard working people in the food service business, but this has been a consistent lack of management since the place opened. Interestedly when I look them up here on TripAdvisor, they mention they use Grub Hub, although that isn’t mentioned on their own website, and several times I’ve tried to use Grub Hub here they usually have it turned off. Food is good. Steaks are average but ribs are above average and Maryland Chicken is very good and one of our favorites.
The food was amazing, the only problem I had was our waitress. She was nice but she could not remember who had what she kept forgetting what we asked for.
I always enjoy a trip to Lucky's and tonight was no different. The music was spot on, food prepared and served well, and the staff on point even though they were slammed. The atmosphere is a bit loud but not rowdy. I love the savory bread and butter that starts the meal and recommend everything on the menu. If you're a horseradish fan, the prime rib with creamy horseradish sauce is incredible. Also, try the gorganzola encrusted steak, you won't be disappointed if blue cheese is your thing!
At first I realized my canoe ribeye was about 40% fat. Then I cut into it more to realize it wasn’t even cooked. They get 2 start for comping on the fat but please temp check your food this is not even close to medium rare and barely makes it to blue.
Visited for my wife's birthday, employee 289 was not very attentive, the table was greasy on arrival and she had to be asked to clean it. She wiped it off with a WET SOGGY rag and had to be asked to dry it it. She was not very personable and had to be asked for everything. She did not ask if the food tasted good and hardly came to our table. My second cup of coffee got cold waiting for her to return with creamers. I had crab stuffed fish. The crab was too spicy and the fish was soggy. The best thing was the baked sweet potato. We were not even asked if we wanted desert. We regarded Lucky's as a special place to eat but that changed today.
I used to eat dinner at the original Bay City location about once a year but haven't visited in almost 10 years. I forgot how good the food was, especially the free bread which is some of the best restraunt bread anywhere. The service was also excellent and it was refreshing to be served by someone who was properly trained and knew how to provide good service. The best part, we spent less than $90 for four of us and I got the lobster. Excellent job Lucky's.
Our party of six waited over an hour for cold food, and still paid for half the check. What was I thinking?? The manager did ask what she could do to make us happy, but I should have followed my gut and left without touching anything. I never send back an entire order to be reheated, and we aren't local. What are we supposed to do with boxes of cold food at our hotel?? I mean how can you reheat & enjoy a perfectly cooked, but cold NY Strip? It sat in the window because the food couldn't get pushed out fast enough per the manager. I know they were new to this location, she said so, but you can't let customers leave unhappy. Our table wasn't the only one, and I feel sorry for other patrons. A business cannot be sustainable if it continues like this.
We live a long way away but used to come here a lot before covid. We returned and all were fairly happy except one who got a rare steak which he had to send back. Turned out the ribeye was gristly but overall it was a good visit
Thank you Dan for the great service! Our dinner was perfect!
Great atmosphere and service was great. Crab cakes and the stuffed mushrooms are so delicious. The hosts were very accommodating and our son lives his steak.
