I was excited to try their food after seeing them celebrating 40 years, pics in the review and having 4 stars…unfortunately that was the opposite of our experience. Food was overpriced and not good. The lasagna wasn’t very good, the chicken in the salad was soggy. The salad was loaded with tomato. Minestrone soup tasted like a vegetable medley soup. Chicken mushroom Marsala was good according to my guest. One of the waitresses were super nice, unfortunately our waitress (giving her the benefit of the doubt) was having a bad day. The red sauce they serve with the bread was good. Bread was ok. The best thing there is the Romano dressing. They don’t have ranch but the Romano was just as good. Very clean inside, but small. Cute outdoor patio seating.
My wife and I had an excellent experience eating at Salvatore Scallopini for the first time. Our service from every staff member was excellent, prompt, and kind. Our food and drinks came quickly, and were all prepared with care. Everything tasted excellent and of high quality. The menu covered all bases, but wasn't overwhelming. The free bread was incredible, and they are very generous with it. The atmosphere was inviting and comfortable. We WILL be returning here again. No wonder my parents always loved coming here!
Came here because Market was full, & it was a pleasant surprise. Did the build your own pastas, & it was phenomenal. The appetizers were all hot & fresh. Would recommend if you want delicious high quality food in the Birmingham area.
Went to celebrate a friend's birthday. The food and service were fine, but it was so cold it was hard to enjoy the meal. Really didn't want to stay and eat the main course. Next time carry-out? Or just a different restaurant.
Best service at a restaurant that I’ve experienced. The Pesto Genovese is really good!
Excellent Italian food. Service has always been good. The chicken parmigiana has a good flavor. I also enjoy the Chicken Marsala. I LOVE the minestrone soup! Definitely recommend Salvatore’s!
I am Italian, me and all my Italian friends love this place we all say it is the best Italian around. You will be taking food home just like a great old fashioned Italian restaurant is supposed to be like. Sauce is rich and thick just like I make it. Wine selection could be improved.
Very good! Food was excellent, had my carryout done on time and order was correct.They were really busy which was nice to see since the pandemic. To me, it showed things were starting to get back to normal. ? So, I didn't mind waiting for a few minutes.
i love their food. it feels very homey yet also pretty classy. the staff is also usually very nice and accommodating. recommend the chicken parm! :)
Ordered take out - was craving pasta - shrimp fettuccini alfredo, meatball mostaciolli and spinach ravioli all fantastic and the minestrone soup was best I've ever had. Would order from here again.
