Working in a place I'm not all that familiar with led me to Basmatee. Excellent lunch choice for those looking outside the regular haunts. Located in a strip with quite a few other restaurants this place is easily located off haggerty. Opted for a bowl, $9.99 got me a cup of channa masala, a bowl of veggie Tikka and a huge serving of basmati. Opted for some naan as I was unsure of the serving size. This is enough to keep me fed for two lunches. The taste is great, nothing over the top or too hot. Delicate seasoning but enough to remind you what you are eating. I will definitely be back.
Glad I made the choice to stop by at Basmatee for my dinner take out today. The food was delicious and service was par excellence. I ordered a combo meal of Dal Makhani, Paneer Tikka Masala & Rice. It came along with naan as well. Well packed in a combo box with more than enough quantity for 1 person. My favorite was definitely Dal Makhani. Well balanced flavors, not too spicy but just the right amount. Fresh naan & fluffy rice complimented the Paneer Curry & Dal Makhni very well.I also, ordered some yummy Gulab Jamuns for the dessert. Thank you for the Mango Lassi to cool down my palate ?. I will definitely be visiting again to try more dishes at Basmatee.I was greeted by Sathish today, who shared his vision on the restaurant with me and I was very pleased to hear his thoughts & the desire to focus not just on quality of food, but ensuring quality of service & packaging of the food. We were having such a busy day and this was one of very few places that was open after 3pm. The restaurant was pretty empty at that time. The person who took out order was very friendly and even offered us a complimentary mango Lassi after hearing that we were visiting them for the first time. We ordered a cut mirchi,chilli gobi, vegetable biryani ,channa masala (which came with rice). We tasted the mango Lassi while we waited for our order to arrive and this tasted out if the world. It is a must try!! The order came pretty quick and cut mirchi and Gobi tasted good. I personally loved the channa masala and rice that I finished it completely. My husband had the vegetable biryani which he loved but I personally don't like the "cinnamon-y spice flavour" in anything(yes people like me exist? ). It was not overpowering or anything though. It came with a gravy and cucumber raitha and together it was good. After that hearty meal we had a tea to go and overall it was such a pleasant experience right from food to service to everything. I hear they might bring in dosa counters in the future. I would definitely visit again.
Wow great food! Tastes like homemade! The price is very reasonable! My family dined here and we each got different dishes. All of them were excellent! I got the basmati bowl,which was delicious! The rest of my family got the chicken biriyani, chicken wrap, and a vegetarian basmati bowl. We were all very pleased. They are also very friendly here! We will definitely be back!
This was our first time coming here. We are Indian food newbies. The staff was amazing at explaining the menu. The vegetable samosa was great and the mango smoothie is a must! We will definitely be back!
Excellent, fresh, authentic selections in a recently opened restaurant. The staff is excellent, and the menu has great Vegan options and meat options. I Butter Chicken lunch special, samosas, and it was so good I ordered more and took some home. The best thing is their cleanliness, the location is spotless and they make almost everything in-house rather than buying from others. Will order again.
Pleased to find a new addition to the area, especially Indian! The shrimp tikka masala was so good. Never had Gobi before and decided to try. It was spiced well and delicious. The rice was fluffy and perfect too. I will probably pay for eating too much but it was just soooo yummy and I couldn’t help myself- lol.Service was friendly and quick. Portions were generous. I watched a steady stream of customers come in. Hope this place continues to do well. It will be my standard when I’m in Livonia.
Their staff is very kind who truly cares about their customer. I placed a pickup order. The food was ready in time. I am impressed with their food as their food was well cooked & very fresh, super healthy (it was not oily at all) & perfectly priced.They nicely packed my food and they used plastic box which I definitely loved. If you are searching for great Indian food, I highly recommend you try Basmatee Indian Grub. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very neat and clean. I think this is the ideal restaurant and best indian food I have ever had in Michigan.

Fantastic find. Samosa Chat was amazing. Way bigger portion in take out box than the menu photo. Really friendly guy serving. You can tell they’ve put their heart into this venture. Only one month old. I’ll be back!
