Donuts/baked goods are delicious and I love that they offer a variety of unique flavors and vegan options. Coffee menu is small but SO good. Definitely my favorite latte!
Every single time I order from strange matter I fall more in love. The staff is so kind and sweet. The bakers have consistently created new and exciting combinations of flavors and designs that continue to excite people that go there regularly. I live 40 miles away and I FREQUENTLY drive to Lansing JUST for donuts. They’ve also followed all local guidelines to keep people safe and are a very positive impact on the community.
Hands down the best donuts (that just happen to be vegan--I love them and I'm not vegan), most unique and delicious latte flavors, and wonderful atmosphere in the Greater Lansing area. This business provides not only superior product, but a space and community where I feel safe and welcome. I make extra effort to patronize businesses that share my personal values, and Strange Matter is all that to me and more. I'm a customer for life.
Strange Matter is hands down the best coffee and donut shop in Lansing and surrounding. The Oat NOLA is unlike any other coffee I’ve had and is the Holy Grail of their coffees ?Their dough is light and airy which makes for a perfect donut. Out with the dense and in with the cloud, literally their donuts are what I imagine it would be like to bite into a cloud. ☁️ ?The environment there is so welcoming and the crew and owners are so incredibly kind and community driven. They put their heart and soul into every recipe, recipe creations, interactions and so much more! We love you SM! ?
Came back to edit my still positive review!Great drinks, great staff, great selection of baked goods. Loved a particularly herbaceous scone I had. I noticed the fennel, so thank you to whoever bakes them!Also just had to note that in following SM I was able to be made aware that another Lansing Business was providing a safe space for White Nationalist.On the coffee alone, SM is a five star. On being a valuable cultural anchor for Lansing? Off the charts. Keep up the good work, and thank you!
Coffee is so so. The employees can be hostile if your views don't align with theirs. I will definitely not be back.

The vegan bakery selection is unmatched and everything taste amazing.The atmosphere is always very relaxed. I enjoy this place very much and probably average close to $100/month here. ??♂️
I’ve been visiting SM since the day they opened. The new locations have all been a delight and I’m so excited to see what they open next! The coffees are delicious and the donuts are out of this world amazing. I literally plan my weekend around them. The first thing I consumed after delivering my baby last year was an everything donut and lavender latte. I also ordered a dozen donuts for the nurses. Love in a pink box. Also the aesthetic is fire and never disappoints.

I just love the atmosphere here, as well as the unique drink specials.Although I don't usually eat the very fun-looking donuts, they are great to gaze at. The scones I have tried have all been excellent, and I am a bit picky ?.The quality of the coffee and tea beverages is also quite excellent. (Not too sweet... Natural flavors... Refined sensibilities in the recipes.)
