We went a little late for dinner but a little early for "bar time", so it was a bit of a bummer that the music was so loud that my husband & I had to shout at each other in order to be heard. As for our food: we both liked the cheese curds, but the portion was small for the price. If we had ordered it as an appetizer to share with more than just the 2 of us, we'd be really annoyed. I had the olive burger, which was good for the most part: nice bun, well-made olive sauce; my issue was the waitress asked me how I would like it cooked. I don't know why places still do this when they're going to cook it however they want. I told her "medium" hoping to have at least a juicy burger. What I received was overcooked & dry. Fries that came with them were fine. My husband the Greek Philly. He thought it was a little dry, too.
Had the soft pretzel appetizer with cheese. Very delicious! Greek salad with Greek gyro meat on it was tasty as well. They were busy, but the waitress was very attentive and helpful.
One of the best places for a cheese steak. Happened to find it by chance but always good food. Can be slow to serve but still usually busy and decent prices.
This is one of my favorite places in town. Its got great food, and a familiarity lots of bars and grills in lansing fail to manage. The pretzels and cheese are to die for, and the food is always hot and made just how you want it. While noise is to be expected in a bar and grill, sometimes its a bit too loud to hear your own conversations, which is a pretty glaring issue. the staff is sometimes overworked but its commendable how well they do despite this, totally worth a trip!
Good food, great really. Nice interior. One of those bartenders who just knows everything going on and is just on top of everything. If you can find a spot here for any MSU activity I highly recommend.
Lots of people on the Tuesday night we visited but there was parking and open tables available. For us, it was little loud sometimes to conversate easily. The food was fresh and everyone in my party had positive things to say about our dinners. The ranch-seasoned tater tots were a table favorite. The servers were hustling to make sure everything was taken care of. We'll be dining again for sure. My only critical thought was the cheesesteak sandwich was a little 'dry' tasting, that said I'll get it again with extra cheese next time; I'd rather have good sliced beef than fatty meat so don't let my thought here put you off as it's still one of the best I've had outside of philly. Credit also to the chunky olive burger sauce.
What's not to love? This place is as warm and familiar as your own coat pocket. Dreary, grey January day, all seats filled and no-one in a hurry. Old Indiana-Purdue basketball game on the TV and Foreigner on the Jukebox. The keen eyed observers might even see the waitresses doing a shot. All the food is great, but get the original if passing through. Staff is hanging on by a thread. Give em' a break and a tip.
This place told us we had to leave the bar if some customers want to sit at the bar because we didn’t order with the bartender. It was their fault we didn’t order at the bar and the bartender had a bad attitude. I’m looking into a lawyer for profiling us.
Good food. Fair prices. For being short staffed they did a great job. And food came out fast
I had the Philly cheesesteak but I've had better. I went to lunch with someone else and they had the gyro plate and said it was really good. Service was good especially for a game day. I would go back and get something else.
