It used to be great to go to Steak and Shake and have your order taken. Now you walk up to a machine and spend 10 minutes trying to place your order. Terrible food and no service. I give the chain 2 months maybe 3. Good luck!
Everything's shrunk. McDonald's has better burgers at this point. You order from a kiosk, pick your food up from a "pick up" counter, have to get your own drinks. Very impersonal and not very awesome in my opinion. If rather order burgers from speedway
They no longer have a person to take your order, it is all touchscreen. This wouldn't normally bother as much as it did today but it takes longer than a normal order since you have to type things in and choose toppings/condiments from a selection screen, etc. I was not impressed and I was only ordering for one, it would be ridiculous trying to order for a family like this. The food was good though so that earned it a second star!
Let me start out with a positive. The food was good. But the wait time was 20 to 25 minutes in drive thru, and our order was incorrect. We ordered a triple, a double, and hotdog. We got to the window and the cashier said your odered a single, a double, and hot dog...what did you want to drink. We corrected her and said we didnt order a drink and the single should be a triple. So she changed the ordered charged us the price for the triple. When we get home we had the order that was 4.00 cheaper and was the first order the cashier read and she knew it was wrong. Its so hard to find good customer service.
Do not stop here. Waited 30 min for cold food. Burger looked like something I’d scrape off the grill for my dog. Couldn’t eat it. Daughters grilled cheese wasn’t even melted. They liked their shakes though
Food was a little cold. Wasn't asked how I'd like my steak burger cooked. My older was wrong. Only 2 ppl that I seen were working and a computer takes order. Very unfriendly
Customer service fail. I placed an order on the app and when I rolled up, the manager, Don, said systems were down and they were not accepting orders. However, the app said my order went through. And my card was charged twice. Don said I needed to call corporate to fix it. When i asked about my order he said it didn’t come through, so there was no order. When I asked for a number for corporate, he said he didn’t have one. When I asked for a number or email for someone higher than him, he didn’t have one. So I’m out $78, no food and a terrible attitude from the “manager.”
Although the burger was good the server put my French fries in the bag upside down not a major crime but when I asked her to give me another order that wasn't dumped all over the inside of my bag where their hands had touched the carton for the hamburger I literally watched them take my bag inside the window take the burger out dump the fries back into the container put them back in the bag and give me my food back.Yep, no longer a customer there.
Go often for a yummy shake to get me by till my dinner. Just went yesterday and got a shake and chicken fingers mid afternoon. Held me off till a late dinner. Chicken fingers were so tender and tasty. Of course the shakes are always the best.
While the food tastes great, they did mess up my order. Ordered large onion rings, ended up with fries. Also I miss the old menu. My go to burger was the Portabelo Steakburger. At they still have the Royale and the garlic burger. Despite the error in the order, this location is far better than the Auburn Hills one
