The menu seems to be inconsistent. The prices seem a little high but so is everything these days. Lady at the front counter taking orders seems disorganized but her staff preparing the food has a handle on things. They seem stress out by her a little. The guy cooking/frying everything is on point. The side dishes could have more flavor and seasoning. The cabbage and baked chicken is bland. And everything else taste like it's almost there but not quite. The people are nice and that's always a good thing.
Fresh, hot, crispy wings!!!! It's been hard for me to find good food in Lansing being I only come there about once a month and have only been there twice. So I was happy to find a nice local spot to grab some good food. Much appreciated. I'll be back with my camera to get an interview.

I've ate there twice. The food has been good so far.
Where to begin …The Good : The food is edible. Mac && Cheese was decent. Greens were good.The Bad : Food is REALLY overpriced, especially with the way it tastes. There are no combos but only for a 3 piece, and the small Mac && Cheese is almost $5. To spend $15 on 3 chicken wings, && 2 small sides is insane.Mac && Cheese was pretty dry. The chicken was really soft.Me && my partner came in and ordered the same meal, hers was $12 while mine came to $15. Something needs to be set in stone where maybe the most expensive side is free?Again, the food is edible, but not something to pay that much for. If the prices drop I would not mind coming back ♥️
This is my Sunday go to place .I always have good food every Sunday I've been trying everything on the menu.
Everybody’s soul food isn’t good enough to eat…and only liked the Mac and cheese. A cat fish dinner comes with 2 fish, and 2 small sizes.., no cornbread. $20 for that? Greens mixed with mustard/collard with NO smoked meat in it at all.., just plan with no taste… trashed Peach cobbler was disgusting and watering.,. Trashed. Chicken wings wasn’t cooked enough. Yams was way to sweet…1st time there, but won’t be going back. Cooked for Sell, not with LOVE. My opinion others may love it…

Excellent home made soul food, pleasant atmosphere and top notch customer service. We were greeted with a smile and given so many delicious choices. I will be returning to try more entrees/sides/desserts. Sonia offers catering as well for families and events! Make Sonia's your next stop for lunch!
Hands down best soul food in town usually me and my boyfriend conversate while eating we ain’t say one word…all the way up here from Florida most definitely recommend .. Staffing was highly friendly and welcoming!!!
