I wish I would've taken a picture. I ordered the brisket sandwich combo, it was $18. The serving of brisket was a fair amount, but it was served plain on a cold hamburger bun and it was absolutely the most dry brisket I've had in 47 years of life. Also it was was about as tender as a well-done sirloin cooked in a frying pan. The smoke ring was there, so the flavor was okay if you could get past the dryness and toughness. Thankfully their barbecue sauce was good, but it still didn't help the dryness much.The serving of corncake was a very small scoop, approximately equivalent to an 1/8 of a cup (I'm being generous), but it tasted good. The coleslaw, again, was a very small serving and very average in taste.The star of my meal by a mile was the mac n cheese, but I still think Gravity does theirs better. Definitely do not feel I got a good bang for my buck, and in general I think the menu is pricey. Glad I ate here by myself before I took my mom or a date out here for food. Highly unimpressed for the cost. That may be why the staff was so friendly.
This location has street parking that fills up pretty quickly. So come early if you want to dine out or call early for carry out as some items sell fast. We found this location heading back to Chicago and skipping two other places. One was closed and the other too expensive. I was interested in the brisket burrito but it wasn't available. I'd say their pricing is on the higher side but the ribs were very tender. The one thing to mindful of is the price and sides that comes w the food. The pics will explain, outside of being tender, we didn't get that smoked taste from the ribs and birsket. The veg sides were a few pickles and onions that were tasty plus a scoop of cornbread pudding, both small portions. It's the sauce that provides the flavor. The customer service was great. Very friendly and helpful. There's a few tables and high stool areas inside and outside dining which is your best option. There's more room outside. I would try them again for the brisket tacos, burritos and churro donuts.
Delicious BBQ, portions were very large and the meals came out quickly! It was nice to be able to sit out front at the picnic tables while eating. Brisket with tender and had a great smoky favor, sauce was not needed!
nothing special there pulled chicken is so dry I had to turn it in and they gave me a brisket sandwich , nothing to say damm that was good. actually was dry also. maybe they serve left over from yesterday. gumps bbq is near by and much better.
Overall it was okay. The chicken on my pulled chicken sandwich had a lot of fat/gristle that needed to be removed. The flavor was great though! Pulled pork sandwich was great too. Coleslaw was good, no complaints. The first 2 deviled eggs I had were very flavorful and tasty but the third was so salty that it was unpalatable. The flavor of baked beans was good, had a nice Smokey peach flavor, however there seemed to be very few beans in my baked beans, lots of meat - which I understand many people would appreciate. Just missed the beans in my baked beans. Coming back to the area this summer and will try again.
My first visit and I loved it. I pre-ordered a week in advanced. I arrived 15 minutes early to pick up my order, and told them I was early. They immediately put my order together and was out the door in under 5 mins. The pulled pork paczkis were really good. Picture perfect.
My husband and I had lunch here today and loved it!! Baked beans are so good and have a lot more than your traditional baked beans. The mac and cheese is so rich and creamy. Don’t even get me started on the brisket. The staff was very nice and food came out fast! We will definitely be eating here a lot.
