Don't let the location fool you - my family has been coming here for at least 35+ years, that I can remember. The new addition outside in the back is wonderful. Heated for cooler days and some covered areas for rainy days. Great on a Michigan summer day.This location never lets me down (hands down better than East Lansing location). Aliana (not sure of spelling) is a wonderful cook and person. The service and food has always been good. We get the CV burrito. Their salsa is delicious and prices are not expensive.
When will I learn? Ever since El Az West changed ownership the food has been inconsistent. Stopped going after multiple bad Topopo Salads. Then, tried them again, and surprise things seemed back to normal and good. Unfortunately that didn't last long. Ordered a Topopo a week or so ago and it was dreadful. Scant beans, cheese and guac, salad on top was soaking wet and lacked any measurable chicken or peas. Waited a week and ordered the burrito place with 2 spicy burritos. Horrible! Hardly any of their spicy sauce inside and super bland, NOT spicy at all. Tasted like plain hamburger, a little cheese rolled up in a soggy burrito (maybe it was steamed to reheat?). I am finally DONE. Not eating there again. I may stop for a cold beer on their great patio, but I'm done with crappy food.
Ate there today food was awesome...had taco plate and brother had the burrito plate..good portions hot and tasty. Shared a margarita. Extremely tasty. Will recommend to all
First of all I never give 5 stars. What makes a 5 star rating is what Bobbie (sp?) the owner puts into the place. She survived COVID unlike other restaurants with hands on service and putting in protocols that were safe for her workers. I can't count how many times she will be here sitting on her time off and get up and do what needs to be done. Her staff is trained to do the same. I've had many different variations of Mexican food. You either like it or not. But what you come for is fairly priced drinks and food and great service. If you have a problem it'll get taken care of. Seriously. If you give them anything less then 4 stars then your being picky and not fair to everything being done to keep this restaurant one of the best Lansing has to offer.
Food was good. In the past we received a much larger basket of corn chips. A second small basket of chips and salsa was $1.00. not bad but not what it used to be. At least they were open on Mondays for lunch!
Had a reunion with college friends. We used to eat at EA when it was a basement restaurant in E Lansing. EA W Saginaw does just fine. Good food. Great drinks. We sat at the enclosed patio. Heat was OK-ish. Server seemed really rushed and busy. Only one other table with diners. Not sure why she was so hurry, hurry, hurry.
Rude waitress, stale tortillas, forgot drink order, rock hard enchiladas, queso had a weird flavor and texture. Food was just plain bad and pricey for the quality. Tried to charge us for margaritas we never got. Will not be returning there are much better options for Mexican in Lansing.
With all the Mexican restaurants to choose from, this would never be one to repeat for me. Went there for dinner with my daughter. We stood at the front door for a good time before anyone acknowledged us. Chips were stale, food was bland and had no flavor. Ended up making me sick.
We stopped in here on a busy Friday night. Even though the restaurant was packed, they were able to get us a table. They gave us chips while we were waiting. I appreciated that the server filled up our chips three times. I did order sour cream and guacamole, but the portion sizes were puny. Not sure why they skimped on this. Also, the chips were small and hard to dip. We had the bean burrito and it was nothing special. You can get a better bean burrito at Taco Bell. I thought our server was good and very nice. Pricing is reasonable. As mentioned earlier, I appreciated that we were able to get a table on such a busy night.
I’ve never walked into a Mexican restaurant I didn’t like until coming here. My god. My entire family couldn’t stomach their food. It’s was honestly the worse food I’ve ever had. We felt robbed having to pay for our meals. We ended up filling up on the chips which were mediocre at best.
