Generally speaking, the food at Chen's is very good. I particularly enjoy their shrimp egg foo young and their fried wontons. Portions are a good size, and the cooks are conscientious of allergy concerns. My out-of-town friends like Chen's food, and this is where it becomes embarrassing. The restaurant interior is absolutely filthy - it is downright gross. For such a successful restaurant, there is absolutely no need for this. Indeed, the Health Department should be notified. This is a family business. The teen waitresses could use a tip in friendliness and manners, as well.

I absolutely love Chen's. Back in high school, my friends and I would go here on half days for lunch. The food was always fantastic, they gave giant portions. We kept coming here through college and eventually I moved back to the area and lived not too far away and would get food here pretty regularly. I've never been disappointed. I know the place looks a little worn but they make great food. Whenever I'm in the area I try to make a point to stop by.

My guest and I wished we had turned around and left before being seated and ordering. The one star above was given only in order to write a review. A zero would have been more accurate. Upon entering, we noticed that carpeting needed vacuuming and the floor throw mats had loose strings hanging off all around. The round dining room was novel and the egg roll and spring rolls were good. The main dishes were not! The fried rice was just brown with no signs of oil or any veggies at all. My cashew chicken had half-inch chunks of some veggies (mostly carrots) with what looked to be a few burnt cashews. The tiny chicken chunks were flavorless and almost unrecognizable. I ate only a few bites. Upon leaving, I found the bathroom switch plate and walls to be grimy. Steer clear of this place.

Love Chen's!! I ask for their General Tso made extra hot and spicy with extra sauce - never fail to impress. Wont go anywhere else. ❤

My friends and I ordered $80 worth of food from there which I completely regret paying for. We got it home and the first thing I noticed that the shrimp that I ordered was mixed in this coagulated snot sauce looking stuff and they called that a meal and I couldn't even give it to my dogs. Sweet and sour chicken I think it was I couldn't even tell what kind of meat that was. It was the most disgusting food I've ever had and I'm seriously considering stopping payment on my card because I don't even know what to do about it. It seems like everything was in this gross sauce and it was coagulated and disgusting nothing that I got from there and didn't taste like lard or fat and I couldn't even tell what half the stuff was. I will never ever order food from here or go here again or recommend it to anybody I know.

Trust me it only gets a one because I had to give it something my cat would barely touch it the meat I don't think that that was beef more like fat definitely curbed my craving for Chinese food made me sick I probably will not eat any Chinese for months thank you for that I don't know if they've changed where they get their meat from or what is going on my neighbor said it was good and my boyfriend said oh yeah the last time I had it it wasn't that good that would have been nice to know before we ordered it next time I'll just stand at my front door and throw $30 out

Best Chinese take out around ! Generous portions and delicious flavors . I've been ordering from here for many years

Solid food with large portions for great prices - particularly the lunch special. Good service and reliably accurate pickup time estimates.

Ever since I've moved to Lansing I've gone to Chen's for takeout and I'm never disappointed! The staff is always very respectful and FAST. You won't be disappointed here. Food looks and tastes great!

Always been a lifelong favorite, grew up really close by, so whenever we are in the area we stop by. Sweet and Sour chicken is amazing, fried dumplings are baller and the lo mein is exquisite.
