Had a very good burger and nice lunch with my Son. The service was great.
Took my dad for lunch today at like 1:30. The gal offered us buffet but didn’t tell us it was the last of the food they were cooking for the day as they were shutting down early as they weren’t many customers. We got a combo of breakfast and lunch, so brunch sounded good. First off , the biscuits were hard as a rock and only enough gravy for two out of three of us. The scrambled eggs were enough for 2 out of three of us, one pancake for us all to split I guess, ? so my dad just skipped over to lunch items, that were obviously leftovers or something… so dry ALL the meats! And no sides to really speak of. There were a few mashed potatoes and gravy and some nasty baked beans. They started to break down the buffet while we were still eating!!! Then the bill came, and to our amazement they charged us for 3 DINNER buffets that the workers finished eating what was left while we were still there! $85 and not one of us left full. I’m still in shock actually! But I do not recommend this place at all!!! And sad as it used to be great. ?
Had driven by here to ski Timber ridge and my buddy wanted to try it on the way to golf Eastern hills. Fly inn was awesome and our burgers here were great too. Double ( half pound ) Swiss and mushroom w fries for $10.50 a good deal. Our waitress was nice, took 20-25 minutes for order for four to come. Other waitress was snotty. Would try again. Extensive menu.
I saw the sign off of the interstate. Look them up and decided to give them a try. I had the full rack of baby back ribs, the "tracks" french fries and the coleslaw. The ribs came with the house barbecue sauce. These ribs are fall off the bone type ribs. Which usually means they were boiled then had some smoke on them for a little while and then covered with sauce. I lot like the ribs at Chili's. If that is what you like then you will love these. I'm not a sweet barbecue sauce type person. If you're a hardcore barbecue rib person, you will probably not care for these. The coleslaw was just okay as well. I like mine with a little zing, this coleslaw was just plain. The waitress was very friendly and kept my glass filled. Overall it appears to be a nice place. I would love to come back and try some of their sandwiches! Especially the Reubens!
Usually good but today I was very dissatisfied. Club sandwich was terrible. Wrap was hard ,lettuce was wilted, hardly any ingredients in the whole thing. Only tasty thing was bottled root beer.
Edit: I don’t know what you mean by “Those People” but I assume it’s referencing Black people. I did not realize that it was a whites only diner and that I as a Black woman am not allowed to voice my opinion.I also don’t know why you would go right to attacking the way someone looks by calling them a “troll”. Excuse me for not adhering to your traditional standard of beauty. I will be reporting this to Google as a breach of their terms of service for promoting hate speech. As for the review, I wasn’t complaining that you didn’t have a waffle maker. I was saying your buffet is not even at the level of a motel 6 breakfast. Are you really so obtuse as to not understand the simple concept of a compare and contrast? But sure… the right way to respond to an unsatisfactory review is to attack a person and to defend your self righteous mediocrity.0 ⭐️ sDear god don’t eat here. Especially don’t get their buffet. You’d be better off going to motel 6 for their free breakfast… at least they have a waffle maker most of the time. You also don’t run the risk of food poisoning, which by the looks of some of this stuff… is basically a guarantee.
I don’t like to complain when I go to restaurants. However… This was absolutely embarrassing. It was embarrassing for me to recommend the place to my elderly parents and it’s embarrassing for the owners and managers of this place for being so totally incompetent that they have no consistency. A few weeks ago, my husband and I came in for their Friday night unlimited fish dinner. It was great. We were recommended to get the onion rings too and those were also great. This week my parents were in town visiting and we wanted to go to dinner. After having a recent pleasant experience here, we decided to make the drive out there for our family meal. I have never been so embarrassed to have recommended a place before. Right off the bat my dad wasn’t impressed. “Do they not have a rake? A leaf blower?” He asked. The place was a mess. The waitress we had seemed to roll her eyes at a question my dad asked that wasn’t unreasonable to ask. Later in the night when they were getting a little busier, she pasted a deranged smile on her face with absolute emptiness in her eyes. The fake niceness made us feel uneasy. Did she feel bad for rolling her eyes at us? Could she tell we were unhappy with our food and thought it may affect her tip? The eye roll was a lot less upsetting to see. We got a few things including the unlimited fish dinner and onion rings for the people in our group. Then we waited, and waited, and waited. The onion rings came out falling apart and were soggy and greasy. Most items were just as basic as you can get. Nothing special, while also at the same time colder than it should have been. I’m guessing our food was done much before it was actually brought out. There was no flavor to almost anything. The fish was also not exactly fresh. The batter was falling apart and soggy. Just really gross. I now see why they make it unlimited, they can up-charge but no one wants refills. I also checked out their salad bar on my way to the bathroom. I had almost ordered it but upon seeing it I was relieved I didn’t. Definitely not worth $10. I suppose there’s not a lot of competition in the immediate vicinity so they can get away to some level of not being very good. But Kalamazoo is like a stone's throw away… I’m sure many would rather make the drive than go down the road and possibly get food poisoning. We paid our bill and left. In the end, I was left with several burning questions. Does it make good business sense to do a bait and switch with food? Where was the fish from a few weeks ago? Was there a fish apocalypse in the last couple of weeks? Is it best practice to roll your eyes at customers then scare them with your insincere attempt to make up for it? Is it better to just leave out the salad bar for days because it’s easier than resetting it? I’m thinking the answer is no. But it’s not my bottom line.
Came in with my family, thought it had been pretty decent a few weeks back. Took nearly an hour for food to arrive. Chicken was super dry. Tasted like they had left it out for a while too. Onion rings were falling apart, burned, greasy, and just not a good experience. No drink menu, just asked what I wanted which… okay I guess. You don’t have any house specials? Kids got a meal that I wouldn’t touch let alone them eat it. Salad was a joke. There is no way that everything that came to my table today wasn’t out of a can or a box. What’s the point of a restaurant then?
The restaurant is clean and the boxcar area is fun and unique. The breakfast buffet however is identical to any Holiday Inn hotel breakfast. Identical. That's not to say its bad if that's what your going for. Did not appear or taste freshly made. Very limited selection. It will fill you up but for what dining out is costing anymore won't be returning.
Delicious and fast take out service. Very friendly staff, a clean, quaint club car setting that accentuates the scene. I took a break from writing fiction and vlogging for Dark Nest Travels and we grabbed a delicious Haystack Burger and Caesar Salad. The food is excellent!
