Visited June 2022. Staff is really friendly. They have more vegan options than mentioned in the online menu (see pic). They have coffees, but don’t offer any nondairy milks. There’s a coffee place down the street that is all plant based with food options as well. Ordered vegan pancakes, vegan Italian sausage scramble and hubby ordered an omelette. He gives the omelette a 1 star because it wasn’t cooked with the veggies, but instead the egg was wrapped around the veggies like a wrap. The pancakes can be ordered with blueberries, I also asked for cinnamon apples (suggested when asked if other fruits were available). I assumed the pancakes would be topped with the fruits, but instead it’s added to the mix. The vegan Italian sausage scramble was ok but I added salt & pepper. They were busy when we got there and still had food ready in about 10 minutes.
Excellent place to eat. It is small and there could be a line - but wait - it is worth it. We had lunch but their breakfast items were available also. The burger was excellent. Staff is super friendly. Excellent place to eat that I will eat at again next time in Kalamazoo.
We were in Kalamazoo for a concert and decided to go here for breakfast. The food was amazing!!! Great service too!10/10!
We were in town for the first time and needed a quick meal. We saw the Studio Grill and it looked cute and clean, so we went for it.The staff was very friendly. I ordered the Vegan Pancakes. They were pretty good. I was expecting a bad texture from a little hole in the wall place downtown but they were good.I think if we were ever in downtown Kalamazoo again, I would stop in for a quick and easy lunch.
Great food! Came at the most busy time. Place was full but got 2 seats at the bar. Ordered the harvest hash. Nice soft hash w some crisp edges, onions perfectly caramelized & apple pieces cooked by still lil crisp & sweet. My eggs were perfectly medium. Bottomless coffee cup. The BF got farm fresh breakfast. 3 eggs scrambled nicely, hash cooked soft but still some crisp edges. Crisp bacon & most fluffy pancakes I’ve ever seen. Owner comes around frequently to check on everything. We will be back!
We arrived to the Studio Grill at around 9 am on a Sunday. This place is small - and in a town where there are a surprising number of Sunday morning closures, it was unsurprisingly busy. We were content to wait for a table, but the manager made a unique and welcome suggestion - go next door to the bookstore (also open), browse for a few minutes, and they would send a staff member over to get us when the table was ready. Just to make sure...they took a name (my youngest child's name, who was tickled pink) to be able to call when they came to fetch us. We headed over to the bookstore next door and spent a blissful 10 minutes pouring over the shelves and eventually walking out some dollars poorer - but feeling very content, even before our meal began. What a perk! The meal itself was delicious. Our family of 4 was still in dinner recovery from the night before, so we ended up splitting two adult meals: the cinnamon roll pancakes and the stuffed French toast. My youngest also ordered a side of bacon. All was delicious and came out very quickly. Drip coffee was okay - I expected a bit more strength for a place that had an espresso machine nearby, but that's fine - I understand they don't make their money on cups of drip coffee. Service was attentive - and another waitress who came by to grab plates even took a moment to compliment my child's choice of book from next door. If we were in K-zoo for longer, I would absolutely be hitting this place up again for breakfast. I'm dying to try some of their vegetarian dishes - which looked excellent. Between the menu, service and total experience, this place is an absolute keeper. No question.
I ordered the harvest hash. Very little scrambled eggs. A few pieces of apple and sausage mixed with the gray potatoes, and only a smidgen of glaze. Left feeling very hungry. The house hot sauce was very good though.
The Staff was nice but was food was disappointing.I ordered the Painters Pot Omelette which was pretty good but the side of "fries" it came with were chopped up I suppose to resemble home fries but minus any onions or peppers. My sister in law's burger was a build your own with mushrooms and onion, but it only had two tiny squares of onion and like a small amount of Mushroom.
Don’t let the fact that it looks full fool ya. Go in and check it out. Plenty of seating in the back. I drove by this place twice before and thought yep it’s full. Go inside. Pretty cool place and a great awesome staff. Tried a smokehouse burger today. I think 2 Pattie’s, Bacon, mozzarella, chipotle BBQ, jalapeno aioli, and bread & butter pickles on it. OUTSTANDING!! I tell ya you could put that jalapeño aioli on shoe leather and I’d enjoy it. Can’t wait to take my wife there to try it also. To was a recon mission. They definitely live up to the Best Burger in S.W. Michigan title. I was stuffed for sure.
Friendly service and great food. Fresh burgers with a twist. The Cabin burger (pictured) has 2 patties with bacon, jalapeño, fried egg, spicy aioli and grape jelly. Breakfast and lunch all day!
