Stopped here to grab lunch during a road trip. All meats are Halal. Good tasting sandwiches. Beef was better tasting than chicken.
We drove from NYC to Kalamazoo today. We were very hungry and tired. I really liked the problem solving skills of Zaineb ( I hope I wrote her name correct). We ordered beef shawarma and we updated the order as without sauce, later on . I was not sure if the chef was already prepared the dish or not. However, Zaineb promptly helped and changed our order. She was very quick providing to-go box at the end of our meal. We really liked the quality of the meat and French fries were also exceptional. It was very surprising for us. Thank you Chef! I wish you were in NYC so we can come as quick as possible. ! Nothing but 5 stars ( you might want to change the curtains sometime in the future :) )
Whenever we come to Kalamazoo we have to stop here! My husband is from the middle east and we both love middle eastern food and consider ourselves quite the experts. ;) We both have only gotten the buffet. I'm a vegetarian and they have plenty of vegetarian options and my husband loves meat and he says the meat is good. They have the best falafel I've had at a restaurant. It's so light and crispy on the outside and delicious. In fact I had a bit of everything(except meat) and everything was delicious. Last time I was there I had to ask them what type of oil they use because everything was so good I figured it had to have something to do with the oil they use. The buffet is decent sized, wouldn't say they have a ton of stuff but definently enough. Last time we were there the service was really good the time before that not so much, it took forever to get a drink refill I went and got it myself.
This place was really nice! it's amazingly clean inside, and the people are very friendly, and the food ... wow, just WOW ... SO GOOD! It's Middle Eastern cuisine done very well and VERY delicious! I wish I Give them a try soon!
Good food in buffet format but you can order from menu. Lunch is best deal as buffet does not change. Lentil soup is awesome.
I like every dish I tastedI will return for more
The restaurant was clean, some staff was masked, bathrooms were clean. The food unfortunately had very little flavor. We eat schwarma and other middle Eastern food on a regular basis living in Metro Detroit where we have the largest middle Eastern population outside of the middle east and this was close to flavorless, so disappointing. The buffet offers a nice variety of choices including salad, tahini, garlic sauce, hummus, pita chips, sauteed vegetables, chicken, beef, several types of rice, mujadra, lentil soup, falafel and more. The cost for a three year old for lunch was $8.50… absolutely overpriced for what we received. We would not try it again.
Delicious. The chicken shawarma entree is my go to. I love eating it with pita bread. The rice is fantastic. Sometimes the chicken can be on the dry side which is a bummer but overall this place is great. 1 entree is enough for 2 meals, easily. They have very large portion sizes but the price is very affordable. Their soups are also wonderful as well.Only critique I have is to get away from the use of styrofoam to-go containers. They’re not only flimsy, leak, and break easy but are horrible for the earth, toxic, and cannot be recycled. Please upgrade to something better!
Good food, friendly staff, and the buffet rocks!
This is the first time my husband and I tried Shawarma King. The staff was friendly and gracious. The waitress we had was very attentive, as was the one who took over for her. The food on the hot bar and salad bar was delicious. I had the beef shawarma, biryani rice, okra, and green beans along with some baba ghanoush and it was all well seasoned and flavorful. My husband had the chicken Shawarma and lamb meatballs and he loved them. All I know is this, we’ll definitely be going back, because everything we had was amazing.Photos1 - Vegetable Soup2 - Lentil Soup3 - Lamb meatballs4-6 -Hot Bar7-8 - Salad Bar
