My husband and I shared the appetizer platter and birria quesadilla (picture only shows half of quesadilla). So delicious! And so much food!! The birria was tender and super flavorful. Everything was hot and fresh. Salsa was spicyyyy but delish. The guac was so good. All in all a great meal for this pregnant gal and we'll be back for their taco special on Mondays!

I was referred to Quekas Authentic Mexican Food on E Cork St, Kalamazoo, MI, by Julio, a seasoned Mexican correcaminos who would drive miles for their tacos de birria. Mexico was indeed in Carmen's hospitality and food. Natalya, my wife, went for the Aztec soup and I for a bowl of pozole left over from a big wedding order and, of course, the tacos de birria. We were not disappointed and it was well priced.

Charged $12 for half dozen tamales sign on counter clearly stated 9.99 a half dozen. No smile or sauce offered. Just got my food and left I’m not arguing just not ever returning. I heard they don’t serve “everyone “with kindness and found this to be true. I won’t be back. Plus my tamales were undercooked.

Found something that I really like here and it is the taco salad bowls ! I have got the chicken one and the girlfriend and I really enjoy it . The edible bowl is great and I love all of the veggies included in this menu item !

I have been going here multiple times a week for weeks for lunch! Their steak tacos mexican style are to die for! Rice and beans are always on point and hotter than hell in the summertime! I’m for sure a regular and would recommend the steak tacos and dry/wet steak burritos to anyone!

First time customer, My colleague missed half his order and when I went to sit to enjoy mine this is what I opened for my taco combo #1, I held the packages on my lap on the car ride to even avoid this ironically. I called and spoke on behalf of the missing items for half the order and the execution of my food. The lady asked to send a text to consider compensation. I submitted the following photo and there was no reply, I called the next day asking for a refund once confirming who I was with the photo, the lady offered a meal compensation, fine, I gave her my info. Nearly a month later I stop in and the older gentleman (owner) went to take my order and I gave my info for the comp meal. Couldn't find it in the system, then stopped and stared at me to say "you're not honest" and accused me of being a dishonest customer when I showed him the photo. He completed disregarded the missing items and proceeded to say that I did that intentionally and causing quite a scene in front of other customers. I was comped for 1 of the 2 meals I paid for in cash being told to go. I certainly will never give another dollar to this terrible restaurant managed by 2 clowns. There are much better choices 1. Down the road is called Los Brothers and another off Shaver road called Garcia's Kitchen. Give those folks your business for better food, not these slimeballs!

Very good food! Fresh salsa!! Good service!

Food taste disgusting, zero flavor, portions were very lacking order $60 worth of food for everything to go in the trash. Called the store manager tells me that is how it’s supposed to be and tells me there is nothing he can do about it. Owner was extremely rude while ordering telling me his spending too much time with that should of been my first clue to no finish ordering. Absolutely disgusting never again will I order from them. First and last time for sure. Update after reading there reply. I live 3 miles away from the store so I don’t know what your talking about l secondly I never asleep, nor did I ever say I was asleep. They food is bland, price is outrageous. That is what my problem is.

This local gem is an absolute must! Everything is homemade and you can tell. They have a huge variety of meat and non meat options. The quekas themselves are a must!! I can't stress this enough. If you have the opportunity to eat in house, you will be treated to lovely service, but do expect to linger and enjoy your time here. As an indoor plant enthusiast their crazy huge indoor plants are interesting and lovely. I can't recommend this place enough. Just go!

I used to love eating here, and the food was always wonderful!I hope this was just an off night (Saturday Feb 12, 2022) but the salsa was lacking flavor and cilantro, and both the quekas and gorditas were dry. Clearly there wasn't enough fat or water used in the mix.The service was friendly and quick as usual!Hoping the next trip is back to their usual standards!
