We were recommended this place by a local business contact and arranged a business dinner here. Small but authentic menu. We tried the lamb ragout, the pork chops and the flat meat as well as a few starters and various cocktails. Everything was really well prepared and very tasty. Great list of “special” cocktails and great beers. Very nice and attentive service. Really worth a try. Make a reservation before.
Such unique, flavorful dishes with engaging and friendly service at this place! I came to Kalamazoo for my brother's hockey tournament not expecting much, but I have to say this is easily one of the best restaurants in the city. I got a Chickpea Ragu Paradelle which when speaking with the manager learned about the historical inspiration behind the dish, which is so cool! There was incredible melding of the flavors, including the tender meat and tangy yogurt sauce, bathed in a savory broth, but unlike a soup. This is the spot to go if you are in Kalamazoo!
The wife and I came here for a delicious dinner and we were no disappointed. Each mouth-watering dish was prepared with an incredible eye and skilled hand. The menu isn't extensive but what is lacked in quantity is made up for ten fold in quality. Don't just take my word for it. Come on over and try to prove me wrong! I give Principle a solid 4 ⭐️'s
I’m from out of town. But have been here three times over the last year or so. Everything. I’ve had has been amazing. I’m a tough judge when it comes to restaurants. This place is fantastic.
We were visiting Kzoo for the Gilmore Piano Festival, and had a busy day of music planned. No plan for sustenance. Fortunately a chatty gal mentioned this place - so we headed over. The duck confit wings were outstanding. For dinner I had the MI lake trout, enjoyed it very much. The folks at the bar treated us very well, and whipped up several excellent cocktails.
Met my son & his partner for drinks. Absolutely wonderful, professional, knowledgeable service. 3 of us only had cocktails, which were beyond delicious, and the nosh that my husband had was fabulous. When we are next in town, we are definitely returning. Keep up the good work. It shows.
Was in town for a concert, decided to try this place and it may have been my best dining experience in years! Top notch service, top notch drinks, and I was blown away by the cuisine. Got the confit duck wings, cheddar biscuits, and the lamb ragu. So good, go to this place now!
If you're looking for elegance and Adventure this is the place to go. You need to understand they are always creating new things. And unfortunately when this happens it's not always perfect but it is different. I have a lot of respect for the people who run this place. They really do come up with some original ideas. I brought my kids here and they liked it. They are kid-friendly. But this type of atmosphere is really not suitable for kids. We got the confit duck wings oh, and the squid. We ended up with the chocolate pudding and the cheesecake. Most things on the menu will not come out as you expect and that is the surprise. You might find out something about yourself that you might not like surprises. if you are someone who likes surprises this place is perfect. The thing that is in Vogue now is smoked drinks. One of the cool things they did was bring a flash that was smoked and left the smoke flash for me. See photo
