Since college in the early 2000s, I've been coming to Martini's for their calzone and slices. Back then it was every few days, now it's every few months since living in Chicago. So, when I'm back in Kalamazoo, it's a must. Tonight, I rode my bike to pick up some slices (calzone discontinued, unfortunately). They were still out of this world! Also, to note, they are only $3 each. You really can't beat that these days. The owner rang me up and, as usual, was super nice and friendly. I took the slices to go and had them at my mom's place with a nice beer on the back deck. And I should mention what slices I got. One pep, one sausage, one veggie.Note: they have a bunch of bike stands, so you can lock your bike up. Always great when a restaurant is bike friendly.
The food at Martinis is so fresh and delicious. The owners are the kindest people ever. Hands down the best Pizza in town.
I went to Martini's last night for the first time and absolutely loved the pizza! The crust was crisp, the sauce was so good, and they dice the mushrooms so you get some in every bite! The staff was very friendly, I know because I talked to just about everyone that was working ;) I will definitely be back!
EXCELLENT FOOD AND SERVICE! The food here is amazing! I had a steak here cooked in some marsala wine topped with some creamed swiss chard mMMmMMmMm!!!! <---- Sooo Delicious. If you are in a yank with time stop in and grab your self a tasty piece of pizza or three!
When we went it was nice and clean. The way it's set up, to order at the bar, resulted in someone taking our table when we went to order, dispite our silverware sitting at the table ?. Never had that happen at a restaurant before. I ordered the Martinis acorn squash plate. I would recommend this dish to everyone. The veggies were perfectly cooked. The beer delish! Check it out
Have always had a great experience with this family owned business. So respect their responsibility for them during this pandemic, closing when protecting employees and family. To those who are do not like the "wear your mask" on the front door....You are the problem, not this sign on the door asking you to be respectful. Thank you Martini's for great food, drink's and service.
Another lost customer today. I walked in today and was abruptly told to put a mask on. I asked if they could supply me one (so that I could take it off again 5 seconds after getting to my table) and he said I could walk across the street and buy one. It was very smug and I think the worker enjoyed telling me this. I gave this restaurant a second chance years ago after I had an unpleasant interaction with the owner. Food is yummy. It’s a shame the culture here is so intolerant. I will not be setting foot in here again. Clearly others agree. The restaurant had plenty of open tables.
First we didn't know that there is not a wait staff so you place your order at the bar that was different not bad just didn't know.Second ordered house salads with the house dressing, ended up just tasting of oil, no red vinegar flavor at all. The bread that came with was ok, but cold.Third ordered a 14" pizza (all toppings are $1 ea) got what would equate to a supreme and the crust was burnt. No one asked if the food was ok, just if we wanted a box as we were leaving.Side note: The beer may have been warm coming out of the tap or their lines may have been dirty because they had to pour off the head / foam multiple times just to serve a single beer.
Their sauce is the key. Some other restaurants serve pizza with a very sweet sauce; Martini's does not make this mistake. Maritini's is a small, but friendly restaurant not far from downtown Kalamazoo. My CPA friend and I usually eat there every two weeks for pizza and beer. Good to catch up on the local news,(gossip), and escape the wife every now and then.
Forcing customers to wear a mask in order to be serviced or even pick up there paid for order. Excuse me YOU ARE NOT ABOVE the law, and it is NOT LAW OR EVEN MANDATE to wear a mask. Can’t wait to watch this company go under soon, over priced bar food anyways ?
