I was really excited to check out the beer exchange and I did not live up to my expectations, but I'd go again. First, the website has minimal information to plan a visit. The hours on website, Google, and Facebook were all different. Walking passed in person they have a sign at front door that has opening for bar, kitchen, and when the market opens*Upon entry you are either brought upstairs to the restaurant with stand height tables, outside with bar height patio tables, or downstairs to long bar and bar height tables. So the inside upstairs is best for families with young children, but it also has the least decor for a stock market.Food was average. I'd say we enjoyed the cheese curds the most. The nachos were underwhelming as the chips we made from fried wanton and there was very little meat added.Beer options were great. And when the *market finally opened at 6pm, they rang a bell (inside only) then turned on TV's to show the changes in price that happen every 15 minutes. Servers go around changing the beer menu on table to hide starting prices.Although they're cocktails were good, beware on pricing. Ordered an old fashion and they charged us $21 for one cocktail. I inquired if that was accurate and I was told because it was made with knob Creek. ?Service was good!I'd go again with friends as an evening out, but don't recommend for families.
I've been coming to the Kalamazoo Beer Exchange for about 2 months. In that time, I've been graced with the best customer service in MY ENTIRE LIFE.I know that sounds like hyperbole, but listen. I visited with some friends on an extremely busy night in January. As anyone knows (from being in a bar before), sometimes you can be forgotten about. I would like to put a sweet soul on a pedestal right now. Thanks to one honorable gal named Jess Thomas, I have had multiple amazing evenings at the Kalamazoo Beer Exchange . When I finish a glass of ANYTHING, she is right there to offer me something delicious. Immediately!! I love this place, I love Jess, and this business will always do well with customer service like I have had.
I loved this place! So much fun to see the trading periods change and pick out drinks based on the change in the beer stock market. Atmosphere is fun and lively and the pool tables add to the fun. I can’t wait to come back and hopefully catch a “stock market crash” next time!!
Fun place with a nice selection of craft beer. Prices fluctuate as the beer exchange rates change. Watch for the Market to crash for the best price.
Great beer selection and very unique and fun concept for the dynamic pricing. Definitely put this on your list to check out while in Michigan! 5+ stars!
Came here a couple weeks ago for the first time to watch a 76ers game and ended up staying for hours! Staff is amazing everyone from the host to the bar tenders we're so friendly! Lots of great beer and the food was so good too especially the fries ? Thank you for such a great experience we will be back!
Had water in my camera lens and had to take al my pics in selfie mode, the food was amazing, the beers were stellar, and the service was great. It's awesome watching someone work who is good at what they do, and the staff here were amazing!
Food was great. We got there before the exchange opened--looking forward to going back and experiencing that.
Love this place. And if you're lucky you might just catch it when the beer ticker crashes...
When I ordered my nitro raspberry beer was $3.75 and when I left it was $5.50! So fun! Delicious burgers too.
