Listen, as a New Yorker, the options for even just the bare minimum of semi-decent pizza is LIMITED in Kalamazoo, to say the least...! Blaze isn't mind blowing, but it's the best that we have out here given the alternative options!My favorite thing is that the ingredients always taste incredibly fresh, even the meats. I love going here for a casual date night and being able to order a pie exactly how I like it. It's slightly pricey but again - what alternatives do you really have out here that actually taste consistently great? Nothing! So Blaze gets my money everytime I get the craving for "real" pizza!
Disappointed. Been to Blazes in Gainesville, Florida (several times), Ft. Wayne, Indiana & now Kalamazoo. Pizza delicious. Service not so much. 1st gal starting order was great. Stingy with ingredients. One in our group has a severe mushroom allergy. 1st gal noted it & paid attention but other 3 people couldn't have cared any less. Olives had mushrooms in it from mushroom bin so we couldn't have any. Gainesville always got a new bin of ingredient if it had any hint of contamination of mushrooms. This place didn't even though I asked. Had to ask them to use a clean cutter for the mushroom allergy person & the guy looked at us like we were crazy. No tip given for extra care to ensure no cross contamination. They never asked if eat in or carry out so all were put in a box. Pizza info sheet put in box w/ Pizza & they never called your name when done. Customer had to look in box to see if it was yours or not. All employees (except 1st gal) needs more training to meet Blaze expectations. Gainesville has got it down.
Word is this place is Shut Down due to "Increase in Wages, Food and All Supplies. While taking what little businesses have left to make."What the owner won't tell you is they received 4.9M$ in PPP Loans that were then forgiven. They chose not to put that money to good use. Now all of these workers are out of a job because the owner refused to do anything to anything with that money.We do not need to "Return to Conservative Values." We need people that actually care about their business and it's workers.
I would call it pepperoni pizza with a little cheese. Hardly any of the meatball meat. Very few onions also. I’m not a big fan of pepperoni but would have liked an equal share of the meatball meat and pepperoni. They gave my cheese bread to my friend who thought it was hers so she ate a big piece before they told me it was mine. I had asked mine to be in a Togo box and they put my friends in a Togo box but not mine. I had to go back and get the empty Togo box and do it myself. Will never go back.
First time trying this place. Staff was very friendly and restaurant was clean. For the 20 dollars I spent on the pizza it definitely could have been bigger portions of the toppings. It wasn't any better tasting then any other pizza place, husband didn't like it at all... won't be going back..
I like the pizza when I order in person. It’s good quality ingredients and could be healthier than other options. Goat cheese is coated! DON’T order online/delivery. These pizzas are made to be eaten within 10 minutes of being taken out. Also your pizza will be cold, floppy and taste like warmed up left overs by the time you, DoorDash or whatever you use gets it to you. Also you’ll likely get skimped on toppings if you’re not there(that’s just how it is)Older staff is super nice but the high schoolers don’t wanna be there and I don’t blame them since I know they don’t get paid well compared to other fast food's in the area…P.s high-rise pizza is the same amount of dough as a large pizza just less room for toppings ;)
Place is awesome. Very good pizzas. Only reason for 4 stars was I've had a couple over overly burnt pizzas other than that the establishment is well taken care of and staff and very kind.
Good pizza, I like that for about $9:00 i get lunch and dinner by ordering my own pizza. They were empty when we got there but they seem to have lots of online orders because none of the 4 people there could take our order.
My pizza was pretty good. The service was okay. They all just looked like they'd had enough. Maybe it was a bad day!
