Always a delight! Bartender was exceptional. I snacked today. It hit the spot perfectly. Left with a bottle of wine to share later even. LolNom, nom, nom!My go to snacks are: deep fried pickles, sweet potato wedges and the... oh so delicious Ruben fritters! All come with there own dipping sauces that just tie it all together. Yum!
The food was pretty darn good, but the service really ruined it. Came on a Saturday at 3pm and was told there was just a staff meeting so it would take awhile for the staff to catch up and seat us. No problem. We were seated and the waiter was super friendly. We ordered and then never saw our waiter again. Someone else served our dinner. We got up and asked someone for silverware. We ate, yum, but man we havent had a refill yet. We kept waiting for any kind of service until we finally gave up and asked someone else for a bill and box. The original server came back with the bill but no explanation, and still no refills.I too work in customer service and understand how understaffing or overwhelming happens but we were simply forgotten and the lack of service put a damper on the evening.
Loved breakfast/brunch. Breakfast nachos with pulled pork were a nice twist. Chorizo burrito was full of flavor but not too spicy. Potatoes on the side were super tasty. Staff was friendly and efficient.
Power bowl with shredded pork was aromatic as soon as it hit the table. The flavors after that were even more pleasing. Came at 1:00pm. NO steak on the menu was available! What?! The beer selection is overwhelming and has something for everyone’s taste. Bit pricey but good food.
Service was good, beer and food were fantastic. My issue is with false advertising. Both via the phone, and directly on their menu it says that their poutine is half off for happy hour, but they charged me full price. When I asked the bartender, she informed me that it was half off with the purchase of an entree, but that wasn’t stated anywhere visible to me as a patron, nor was it mentioned over the phone.Still the poutine was delicious, and piping hot so it was worth the full price so I didn’t make a big deal out of it. Just be honest and up front with your customers.
First timers. Friends took us to Grand River Brewery and we are so glad they did. We will return. Very good beers, but heavy on the darker brews and IPA's. We did like one of the lighter ales and the Polish lager...which should be on tap and on the tasting flights. A beer flight is a good way to try the beers, and they are a generous pour. The food is very very good. We really like a good poutine, and GRB does it very well. Hot fries, naked curds that are not preheated, and then a well made hot brown gravy to melt it all together. They add chopped scallions for a bit of color and taste. This is an outstanding item. We tried one...liked it so much...we got another. There is a bit of everything on the menu, at all price points. Their fries are excellent. Happy Hour is from 3-5 pm Mon-Fri...and poutine and drinks are half price. They also have specials, themed dinners, and more. Check their website. I also enjoyed the trout chowder ... but they could cut the salt a bit. Very nice place, excellent service and an enjoyable afternoon that makes us desire to go back. Prices are moderate, and there is a small souvenir store and bakery near the hostess station.
Great waitress, food, beer, & atmosphere. We will be back.
Grand River is a great place to visit for locals and out of town guests. Fantastic food, drinks and consistently good service. I recommend the Ruben Balls, BBQ Pastrami Sandwich and Mac & Cheese which they have managed to elevate to another level. The drinks whether you like beer or not are all top notch especially their 313 Polish Lager, Mammoth Skull & Short Island. Cheers.
Without a doubt a hidden gem to check out! Quite possibly the best brewery my girlfriend and I have visited together. The beers... The food... The atmosphere... The service were all on point. Our server Steve was extremely knowledgeable, pleasant and made our experience even more enjoyable! Definitely have to try the Chronic Fries (addicting) and the Sticky Fried Chicken Burger (OMG). Can't wait to come back again!!!
I've come twice on trips to visit my family. Both times the food and drink were excellent. Service is good but there's not a moderately quiet spot to be had, live music or not, which in my opinion brings the charming, hip environment feel more like a loud college bar instead of a cool gastropub. Nonetheless I will keep coming back for that brisket and Mac.
