Was blessed from this establishment for lunch during our busy week of youth church camp at Hope College. The service was EXCELLENT! Very fast and beyond friendly! They served about 40-50 teenagers and adults with the best food they’ve had all week. We were al thankful for their kindness and their amazing food! Cannot recommend this place enough!
My rating of 5 stars is based on the speed of service, cleanliness of the restaurant, the Texas Chili, and the red cabbage coleslaw. (Although my fiance had the pulled pork sandwiches (Monday special) and he liked it). We got there *just* before the dinner rush, like literally 2 minutes before everyone started pouring in. I was surprised they got our order done so fast! By the time we filled our cups with pop, and got our straws, our orders were ready. Pleasantly surprised. The owner, in his comments here, wasn't kidding when he said they aim for fast service. I ordered the Texas Chili and the red cabbage coleslaw. I love spicy food, and was super happy that the Texas Chili was spicy and had BEEF in it (not ground up hamburger). YUM. Reminds me of the homemade beef brisket Texas chili I make. And RED cabbage coleslaw? Never had it before but it was delicious! A little bit milder in flavor than the typical green cabbage coleslaw, but it was tasty. Like, the kind of tasty you from a delicatessen. I regret not ordering some of the corn cake... that probably would've been good too. Maybe next time. Given inflation, I would say that their prices were right where they should be. $7.50 for the Monday special (2 pulled pork sandwiches) (+$3 for side & drink), and ~$12 for chili, coleslaw and drink. Hard to say if this is the new "cheap eats" due to inflation, or if this place was always mid-range.
Had a Takeout order tonight cost about 80$ The BBQ was pretty solid. "Southern Coleslaw" IDK what that was I lived in Tennessee for 20 years & never in my life have I had coleslaw that bad.The Corn cakes just fell apart & literally taste like Jiffy Mix with a splash of sugar and maybe a hint of vanilla.. Not a Corn Cake like I've ever had. Overall just extremely disappointed i was hoping to find a good BBQ spot in the area..
Ate here today for the first time. Food was amazing and the employees were friendly. Great atmosphere and good prices. Well def come back! 9 out of 10
Ok, I've been to A LOT of barbecue places, and this was hands down the best. The service fantastic. We are inside and we heard the cashiers give everyone who walked in the door a friendly hello, not a half hearted hello like some people will offer. My favorite was the brisket. It was was tender enough to eat with just a fork (or your fingers) and it wasn't dry in the slightest. No sauce needed. You also must try the corn cake. Comes warm in an aluminum foil pouch, and it is not too dry or too moist. I would totally love to have them cater my wedding if only I wasn't going to have it 2 hours away.
Great brisket sandwich! Perfectly cooked.
The fish basket was sooo good!
Hog Wild has amazing BBQ. We love to pick up a half chicken and some cole slaw on the way to the beach. We recently met with Tim for catering. He is such a fun and great guy to chat with. I would highly recommend meeting with him for your catering needs.
This is the absolute best BBQ I’ve honestly ever had!!! The brisket is literally perfect every time, the sauces are amazing and the cornbread is sooooo great too! 10/10, highly recommend!!!
There pulled pork was excellent... We had the brisket but we got mostly fat wasnt happy about it... Also got the smoked sausage nothing to brag about. It tasted like premade sausage. The Mac n cheese isnt any sort of mouth watering flavor. There BBQ flavor was also mediocre... I ended up using my own homemade BBQ.. wife and kids used sweet baby rays...we thru rest of BBQ away no one wanted.
