The place had decent donuts with a unique atmosphere. Really happy I stopped.
Great pastries. Google maps sent me there when I typed "pasties". So we got pastries and never did get the darn pasties.Stop 2nd guessing me maps!
Great English muffin bread like no where else. Also they had some beyond nummy pecan cinnamon rolls that I devoured!
I'm Dutch. This place is older than me and I wouldn't change a thing. My Grandma from the Netherlands(1903-2003) originally took us here as tots. We'd have tea. My favorites are the Dutch Crisps. The Fritters are divine. Everything is homemade, nothing comes off an assembly line. The bread is fantastic. Staff is always cheerful and friendly. I hadn't been here in years and it is comforting that it's still the same. You feel like you've never left. Their products also make wonderful gifts to bring to friends and family.
I was gone for a while so I didn’t have a Long John for about 2 months, it was like missing a dear friend. Anyone that thinks a donut is a donut is a donut, hasn’t had Van’s. I may have to pack them in my suitcase next time I leave town. Krispy who???
I spent all morning searching Grand Rapids for a pecan pie for my girlfriends dad. Nowhere had any.I was driving back home after giving up and I saw this shop I went into occasionally with my dad growing up and as I drove by my gut said run in and see. I told the ladies what I was looking for and they said “we don’t have the pie but what about pecan cinnamon rolls.there so much better” I said absolutely! Thank you. I grabbed another slab of caramel apple ones and the lady said “don’t worry about the pecan cinnamon rolls..it’s his birthday it’s on us” absolutely amazing. Made my girlfriends dad birthday so much better. I will never give my business to any other bakery shop in town. This place is great. Thank you again!

A historic Grand Rapid's staple and fantastic family owned business. They have the best fresh donuts, English muffin bread, and banket in the area! The folks working here are are so wonderful and the prices are the best you will find ANYWHERE near here. A true treasure and located one block over from the Fulton Street Market.
6am and nothing is nicer than donuts from Van's.The early morning staff is always kind and friendly.I recommend a box of a dozen variety donuts.
I haven't been in Van's in years I went in and it was better than ever. cream puffs. Coconut macaroons its awesome
