Saw this place on TikTok and really wanted something that was truly a Grand Rapids speciality. I was not disappointed. The food was beyond outsiding but what made the night was the service. Sitting at the bar was delightful and just made my evening. They even had drink specials that are for a cause. 10sI will definitely be coming back.

Delicious food, great atmosphere, and good service.I chose this for brunch with a friend because it was on the list of top 10 restaurants in Grand Rapids and had Scandinavian inspired food. It did not disappoint. If you are in the area, don't miss out!I had: brunch burgerMy friend had: breakfast hash

I visited The Sovengard yesterday for the first time and it was absolutely fantastic. We attended brunch on a Saturday. I got the Reuben, which is served open face, with some very fresh corned beef and thousand island dressing that you can tell is homemade. If you order the rosemary herb fries, ask for their homemade ranch (which has lots of great dill flavor) to dip them in. We were highly impressed by everything our table ordered and the service was wonderful. Bonus, it wasn't very crowded like it would've been for dinner or on a Sunday.

great cozy atmosphere, and the best meal that i have ever eaten.

We had Chloe as our waitress and she absolutely made the experience for us! She treated us and KNEW the menu so well. We completely trusted her recommendations and left with fully bellies and warm hearts. The food was spectacular! We had the vegetable board from the Deep Winter menu and could have eaten it three times over. We then were treated to the beet tartare, followed by the duck confit and the seared pork chop…oh my goodness *chefs kiss* ?? Overall, would highly recommend! If Chloe is there, request her, it’s definitely worth…then, just sit back and enjoy eating slow and being well.

Farm to table means always fresh and a menu that is always changing sure to have something you’ve never tried vegan to steak beautiful presentation and very friendly staff

Came in from out of town and saw so many amazing reviews for this place, so needed to try it! It was just ok. We came in and waited for about 10 mins before anyone to came and greeted us which felt a little weird. We ordered a few starters and two entrees. The waitress came back twice to tell us the item we ordered was sold out for the night. Pretty disappointing when the menu is already so small. We had the kale salad which was yummy, the pears were the best part. That was probably our favorite thing we had. The vibe of this place is great, but we won’t be rushing back anytime soon.

The food and cocktails are always amazing. While the menu is smaller than it used to be (supply chain and covid) everything has been a huge hit. For reference, I'm not particularly fond of trout, but their trout dish is so amazing that it is hard not to order it every time we go.

Interesting concept, trendy restaurant with over-priced, very average uninspired food, Staff was polite and accommodating, wine and cocktail list was interesting, but our food was bland and uninspired. I had four tiny, fatty spare ribs and a pile of overcooked kale for $38. We chose this restaurant based on reviews and were really disappointed.

We haven’t eaten this good in a long time
