Enjoyed a celebratory Sunday brunch with my partner at The Commons recently. The atmosphere is very nostalgic, hip 70s vibe. There’s a sunny patio to enjoy. The food was very satisfying. The owner, Beth, went out of her way to make us feel welcomed and personally saw to it that we were enjoying ourselves. What a gem! Happy to support a locally, owned small business like this.
Stopped by without realizing there was a popular snobby Home Tour event going on in the exact neighborhood surrounding this restaurant, but nevertheless had a great meal! This place has great charm & is saturated with nostalgia from my "wonder years" of the 1970s and 80s.Great staff, all around. Great menu - again, nostalgic, with options like meatloaf, goulash & a contemporary tater tot revival.Strange that the impatient occupants of a table nearby seemed to expect a Comedy show of some sorts in this
Really cool place. Very unique and fun atmosphere. Food was very tasty and drinks were amazing!
Loved the atmosphere and the vibe of the 70s! The service was incredibly slow, it wasn’t that busy either. They ran out of chicken and waffles and pancakes. Not sure how that happens!! The mimosas were good, fresh squeezed juices too!
I went into brunch with no expectations as I had never heard of this place. But the food was actually excellent and the atmosphere was a mid-century dream. I want to ask them where they got their furniture AND come back again for the breakfast sandwich.
This place is truly unique. A mid-century atmosphere paired with really great staff and good food and decent drinks, this is a fun place to visit. My hope is that they grow by producing a more stylized bar with higher-end selections as more of a cocktail lounge and restaurant. If they bring their drinks, hors d’oeuvres, and desserts to the next level and continue with the 70s vibe, I think this could be a staple of GR.
What a hidden gem in Grand Rapids! Beth and her crew made us feel like part of the family, part of the inner circle. The decor is funky and eclectic, a time capsule straight from the 70s. The food was fantastic! We’ll definitely return, over and over!
Really awesome place. Random find in Google. Kid friendly. We sat in the "lounge". Cool old school Nintendo games to play. The Nashville hot chicken was great. Really great vibe. Glad we found it!
We went there when Emily was serving and bartending. They were amazing and treated us so well. The food was delicious! Massive portions. Emily made us awesome cocktails everyone needs to try.
Yummy breakfast menu . Cheery & Friendly staff .
