Went down on a busy Saturday night and got the Poor Man’s Wings, which were like a fried potato wedge covered in sauce, and let me tell you these boys SLAP. The outside was very crispy, inside was super soft, absolute perfection. Got them with the sweet chili sauce, which was f’ing delicious.Service was relatively quick considering how packed it was.Excellent vibes & good drinks, plus they were playing Rilo Kiley. 10/10.Edit- it’s been a few days and I’m still dreaming of these wings.
Recently attended a Slipknot concert at Van Andel in Grand Rapids and my wife and I took our daughter out to eat before the concert. She directed us to Stella’s Lounge in downtown GR. Upon entering the graffiti decorated bar we heard Devo’s Uncontrollable Urge was playing on the sound system. This was followed by Iggy Pop’s I Want To Be A DOG. I knew this was my kinda place . When the food arrived , we were impressed with the quality and quantity of the servings. Service was quick and polite. I will be visiting Stella’s Lounge again
Food is phenomenal and service is top notch. Servers treat each customer with kindness and go above and beyond to just BE HUMAN to the people who come in. My friend and I are able to get away from work and babies and stress about once a month… We relish this time, but after some unpleasant experiences with other bars in the area, we will definitely be regulars here in the future. PLEASE! Keep up the good work!! We see you. A little compassion goes a long way.
Amazing burgers, fries and onion rings. Inventive stuffed burgers on the menu with many to choose from. They also offer many vegetarian/vegan options which my beloved greatly appreciated. Great dipping sauces. Long list of draft brews and cocktails. Awesome interior with eclectic murals throughout the bar. They have outdoor seating as well. Video games from the 80s to get your nostalgia fix. The staff was amazing and you can tell this place has great managers because it runs so well. Great location downtown GR. We will be back.
If you are looking for the best burger in town, look no further. This place never disappoints. All the burgers are infused! Choose wisely. But if I were you, Gov’t Cheese be the way to start your first Stella’s experience. While you wait for food, cash in a few bucks for a few quarters and play some arcade. Music and cartons on mute. Get used to it! You’ll plan the next time you’re coming back before you get served your food. Enjoy!
Drunk, full of vegan food, and happiness. Great date and great whiskeys so happy 10/10Sober update: very interesting vegan food! Loved playing arcade games as we waited for a table and our food, it was such a good date night. I absolutely killed at Galaga. Staff was friendly and had a fantastic drink list, highly recommend the 1792 small batch bourbon.
Delicious as always! Gov't cheese with Avocado and fried egg with Chris fries is where it's at. Wait time was crazy. Over an hour to get a seat so we ended up just waiting for an open spot at the bar. Took a bit to get an order in but service was good. Not a lot of beer choices compared to other restaurants but it is a whiskey place.
Above average food, great drink selection, sometimes a little too busy with stressed staff. Either way, this is a must visit for someone new to GR or looking for a fun time downtown.
This was our first time here and it was our wedding anniversary.Parking is a bit limited, but that's to be expected with downtown. We were welcomed and seated quickly. Our server, Chris, was great with helping us decide what to get. The menu is a bit limited but what they do, they do well! Loved the atmosphere! Bring quarters and have fun with the old arcade games.But the best thing I can say about this place actually involves a slight incident that took place. I won't go into the actual thing, because it can happen at any restaurant. But what I will say is, the staff was amazing at addressing the situation and making sure we were happy with our visit/meal. They even made us feel special for our anniversary, which we only mentioned just before leaving.I highly recommend this place and we will be returning soon!
