It's probably been 15 years since I've been to Steak 'n Shake but the family and I decided to stop in to see if the kids would enjoy it. To my surprise the kids loved it and enjoyed the atmosphere the most. The 4 for 4 double steak burger deal was the perfect size for the kids and they've already proclaimed we'll be going back very soon. Great prices, great food and a fun place to eat. Head here I'd you're hungry!!
Decent food but my wife got Heath Shake not a Reese's shake & I did not get my $2 upcharge of bacon on my burger
They’ve taken away any personality from the place. Used to be you got served at the table and someone cheerily greeted you. Now it’s a cold experience not even a cashier. More people working then ever though at a time. This place is a mess. Staff was nice enough but why the extra staff.
I always love steak and shake the food came out in a timely manner. It's always good. This location is right across from a golden corral and I chose to eat here that should tell you something ?
The person taking our order was unusually rude. She was condescending when my husband tried to order a sandwich that is no longer on the menu. She acted annoyed that there were five of us ordering meals. The food was prepared quickly and tasted good for the most part. My son had a completely frozen fry. They forgot to give my daughter her chicken tenders. We went back and let them know. They quickly gave them to us. They were slightly overcooked and crunchy. It was 8:30pm on a Monday. I have been to this location in the past with no issues (thus, the 4 stars). It could have been an off night, but we are not likely to return any time soon.
Food was decent burgers were greasy ( to be expected of that style of burger cooking) wasn't my favorite but it was good food. Little slow in the drive through 15 min wait.
Honestly hate to rate them so low and i understand inflation has hit them like everyone else but honestly for the dramatic increase in prices they have gone through (used to bring a group of 3- 4 and spend $20-30 depending on what got order, now cost nearly $50 for a group of 4) the quality hasn't changed enough to merit this. Steak and shake has never been bad but with the kind of prices they're asking, i could get a much larger burger from a nicer restaurant and only spend a few dollars more. Almost not worth the price anymore especially since its almost entirely moved to a self service fast food instead of a classic diner experience it used to be. This is not an evolution this is just disappointing
The food was not so good hamburger and french fries were cold. The atmosphere was self serve order your food pick up when number called and clear your own table. Would not recommend this restaurant. The shake how ever was delicious. We had two burgers two small fries and two shakes total cost was over seventeen dollars
Skip to the end for my bottom line up front:Let me start by saying I love this restaurant and my comments to follow don't reflect all Steak n Shakes. So I only strongly recommend never eating here at this one. We all have had situations where we looked at people and made presumptions about each other. However in this case it proves to be spot on. The staff in this location are extremely rude, unprofessional, illiterate, and lack any moral compass. Trying to make a order through the drive through was a nightmare and felt like I was teaching phonics to a kindergartener.The drive thru staff had me repeat my order on a quite day five times. After repeating it multiple times they still messed up a simple order off two meals with no special request. They further charged me for a sandwich and fries I didn't order which was an extra $10 under this current administrations inflation issue. There lack of education was so bad I didn't ask for a refund in fear they couldn't conduct a transaction that would require that much thought. The worse example of unprofessionalism and illiteracy was the girl at the drive thru who I will only identify as a black female with a tattoo on the back right side of her neck. You can't miss her because the only word she ever learned to speak was "yup". In addition, her personal hygiene was lacking severely and she needed a brush, comb, or some bristled device to tame her nasty hair. She couldn't pronounce basic words correctly, lacked respect, couldn't properly count or conduct complex task, and was plain nasty.She got her hair in our shakesb after leaving over them while taking a break. The wrappers to the sandwiches were not even placed correctly on the sandwiches which led to spills in the bag. We threw the food out as it was all wrong and likely not ours to begin with. Even the customers in front of us were arguring with her.I spent my time in the driveway writing this review as a warning to anyone who goes there. Bottom line up front if you are okay with "ghetto" service this is is your place. So be ready to receive lazy service, wrong orders, attitudes and more. If you want a better experience seek elsewhere as this location is likely only hiring criminals, lazy people, people with poor hygiene training, or just plain ignorant. Again this is no reflection in my opinion on Steak n Shake was a company because I've seen better. The issue here is the management team at this location. They are horrible for allowing this garbage of customer service. Enough of my gibberish don't take my word for it just go there and see for yourself. I promise you they won't let you down when it comes to horrible customer service.
Usually when I take my granddaughter to a fast food place they don't get her order right cause she is very specific how she wants her food, Steak 'n Shake was on point with the order!! Service was fast and friendly, Will definitely be returning....
